They gave me a preview copy of
Cinefex earlier this week, and it's a must for anyone who's interested in behind the scenes stuff. The magazine itself is really cool and has Superman Returns cover on it (cool image).
The magazine is $12.50, it has lots of pics. There's some 'new' photos here, and lots of screen grabs directly from the film (Logan next to Sentinel head, Dark Phoenix with hair flowing and veiny face, etc). They show a side by side comparison of how Ian really looked filming that early scene of him and Xavier at young Jean's house, and they compare it to what we see in the final film. There a small pic of Juggernaut without his armor.
- WETA did 178 shots for the film (Alcatraz battle, Iceman transformation)
- Lola VFX did the Xavier/ Magneto deaging sequence (99 shots)
- The Movie Picture Company did Jean Grey's returm, anmd atomizing of Xavier
etc...there were over 920+ visual effects in the film from what they listed. 13
visual effect companies worked on X3.
Also there's cool shots of Famke/Patrick in a huge green screen room for the 'mind battle' scene.
They show the construction of the Golden Gate bridge set.
That photo we've seen of Logan walking towards Jean in the final battle? They have the original greenscreen image (very cool).
There's lots more! It's a great article, and I think every fan would enjoy the read! I don't really like the format of the magazine though, cause the pages are falling out, lol
It should be in stores now:
