That's interesting. Famke didn't have many lines in this film and 95% of her acting consisted of looking mean while staring. Maybe Sharon Stone should have won a Saturn Award for expressing similar mannerisms in the Quick and the Dead.:oldrazz:

The scenes where Famke did have lines though were excellent, particularly in the house and infirmary.

Lmfao. Of course Famke would have to win for YOU to create this thread.

She didn't deserve it. At least not for this X Film. :o

WOW over Eva green and Cate Blanchett....WTF..The award should of went to Eva :o

X3 wins one of six saturn award nominations

Translation: X3 Loses Five Saturn Awards

:woot:

Even I got to hand it to Famke, She plays a good Zombie. :o

...

Go Famke! She rocked as Jean. She was the ONLY good thing about that film for me

I've just seen Cate Blanchet on the list with that film, and although I haven't seen it yet, I think she should have win.

Famke acting was good, but really small, in the end.

i can't believe battlestar galactica beat doctor who :cmad:

congratulations to famke though :D

ya i was actually expecting Cate to win it
i mean she was nominated for an oscar for that role!
but Famke was great in the scenes she had dialogue in(Infirmary ,House scenes)
and because of the lack of screentime she is SUPPORTING ACTRESS
dare i mention Ellen Burstyn's 14 seconds long Emmy winning performance :whatever:

Finally Famke won something, it was time!! she totally deserved it!!

Congrats to Famke but to be honest i don't think the best actress won.:woot:

Best Director: Bryan Singer (Superman Returns)

take that Fox :p

Famke gave a great performance - its unfortunate the rest of the film couldn't match it in quality.

I find these awards somewhat peculiar though. Daniel Craig's dazzlingly memorable Bond --- which blasted the doubters to pieces --- was far, far better than anything Brandon did in SR, in my view. Craig lit up the screen.

It's worth noting too that X3 was not in the fantasy category that was won by SR. X3 was in the science-fiction category against Children of Men, Deja Vu, The Prestige, The Fountain and V for Vendetta. I wouldn't have chosen Children of Men as the stand-out here either; it didn't do very well, is entirely different from the book (losing much of the book's beauty and soul), although it was grittily realistic. Loved Prestige, Fountain and V for Vendetta.

I thought the writing on Pan's Labyrinth and V for Vendetta far better than SR. (I think Harris/Dougherty's writing was much, much, much better for X2 than SR).

And Ottman's score for SR irritated me with its copying of the dated fanfare. Much preferred the punchy score for Casino Royale by David Arnold, and I loved the X3 music which i thought was exceptional (I never rushed to get the soundtrack for the first two X-movies, though i did like the music).

As for the crummy Descent winning the horror category, well I guess the competition wasn't much. Horror is so dreadful these days. I long for some original, thought-provoking horror rather than the generic 'kids running round without switching the lights on' crap.

Regarding X3, at least Famke salvaged something, even without her firebird or a slower transition into (or struggle with) the Phoenix.

... and I'm also puzzled as to why Cate Blanchett's role in Notes on a Scandal is part of nominations for sci-fi, fantasy and horror awards. Notes on a Scandal isn't part of any of those film genres.

i agree. :o
