Glad for Heath.:woot: Sad for Mick Rourke.:csad:

It's great that this actually happened after all the longstanding speculation. The Ledgers seemed truly moved by the occasion.

Congrats to Heath and those involved in the character adaptation for recognition on an enduring performance. Duly deserved.

A noteworthy moment for the individuals responsible, as well as the comic film genre.

BATMAN: But the Joker cannot win!

But he did Bats. And it was very well deserved.

Congratulations Heath Ledger, wherever you may be.

Congrats to Heath! I'm really happy that he won tonight. Here's a little something...

Just a quick job, but you knew it was coming:

Thank you for your great performance Heath, you truly achieved something great in the character and soul of the Joker....
Congratulations and nicely done.
:yay:

Complete pandering because of his death, the Oscars love a good tear stained story, but what the hell he was good the best thing in TDK by a long mile.

I think you are wrong about that, friend. I believe there would have been an excellent chance of him winning even if he was still alive.

Nah he wouldnt have won it would be applauded as a good performance but still within the setting of a comic book movie the death of Ledger is the reason one TDK was so big he it would have ben big anyway because it is a good movie but not that big.

Academy would have ignored Legder's brilliance as they did with the rest of TDK, absolutely. But, as you say, they love homaging real life tragedy and share a collective tear, which they did. You don't tell the Ledger family they are accepting the Oscar for Heat and then you award somebody else.

I disagree. The best he'd get would be a nomination.

We all know what kind of a ****storm the Academy would get if Ledger didn't win.

Congratulations Heath on a well-earned award, wherever you are, and best wished for his family and friends.

TDK certainly deserved more, but it´s STILL the first "major" Oscar ever won by a superhero movie.
