Eternals You can’t escape the Space Gods - The Celestial thread

Eternals, I think, is supposed to be set on Earth. I know there are also Eternals who go into space, for instance the ones who colonized Titan, but I think most of them are on earth.

In the comics that is true. But the mcu is it's own thing. Have any of the writers or directors said anything?

True, but just based on what we know it still seems likely. Feige said the movie could cover thousands of years of human history, if I recall correctly, and yet certain hints (like Thanos’ father), point to some of the Eternals being from space.

This is what he said.

Eternals are one group, but we like the idea of introducing an ensemble, doing an ensemble movie from the start, as opposed to building up as we did with the first Avengers. More like Guardians, not tonally, but in terms of introducing a new group of people. You were asking about ’60s, and ’70s before. Jack Kirby did an immense, amazing epic with Eternals that spans tens of thousands of years, and that’s also something we haven’t really done, which is why that among many other things post-Endgame, we find appealing.”

Doesn't say human history.

They might well go that route. They could say they were humans that were taken to another world or just be aliens though.

Earth is getting packed with heroes now. Having a race of super being living amoung us that we are not aware of begs a lot of questions. What have they been doing through all the thanos stuff etc...

I really don't know how they are going to do it. Hopefully we get some answers after ffh is released.

Aren’t Celestials the ones who created mutants? This movie would be a good opportunity to introduce their origins.

How did The Snap affect the Celestials? Did some of them disappear?
What do the Celestials think of the time-travel shenanigans of the Avengers? Will they retaliate against the Earth because of it?

That's a good question but I don't see how they would retaliate against Earth since if they were affected by Thanos' actions then when in five years the Celestials that he killed were returned that wouldn't be a cause for retaliation.

That it was humans from Earth that managed to reverse a universe wide decimation of all life forms would probably draw some kind of interest from the Celestials if they are written in some manner similar to their comic book source material.

My own guess would be "Celestials are not 'life'", just to simplify things. Dormammu didn't need to worry, either.

Very cool artwork. Can't wait. I always liked the color of Nezarr the calculator. I think the blue and black one in the background might be him.

Geez how big are they! Whoa here comes dat boi (s)

Slowly but surely im starting to warm to this as one of my more anticipated projects for the fresh new characters alone.

Unsurprisingly, Arishem the Judge is front and center. For those unfamiliar with the lore, he's not only the leader of the Four Hosts but the one who decides the fate of worlds deemed worthy of assessment.

Let's just say... you don't ever want to get a thumbs down from this guy. ;)

Maybe the celestials will be the next big threat for the mcu. Nebula said that vormir was a dominion of death at the very center of celestial existence. So far we have had some humans and an eternal already show up there, not to mention the red skull is the caretaker there now. This has got to get some celestial attention. I am sure the infinity gauntlet, time travel and multiple snaps also got the celestials attention.

With the eternal movie coming out maybe the fifty year judgement will occur or is occurring right now and will complete sometime soon. They could just have arishem judge based on current events.
I already posted this in another thread, just gonna quote it here.

But then I thought Kurt Russell his Ego was a Celestial so if he was, then I wonder if they address that in this film? Peter Quill Star Lord is half Celestial as well

I wonder if they will address the severed head that makes up Knowhere at any point?

Oh that’s an interesting idea! I wonder who will do the honours?

It’s funny we really haven’t heard a thing about who the villain(s) are yet? But seeing them decapitating a celestial would be insane

It's gonna be Sprite.

(Throws smoke bomb and disappears.)

I wonder if this film ties into Guardians 3
