I have absolutely no problem with the world title, and I completely believe just placing it around Cena's waist elevates it. But even though I expect a screwy ending at TLC, it's pretty clear that the WWE and World championships will be unified sooner than later. I'm gonna miss the big gold belt. :(
If it does go, I won't. As has been said the importance of that title has gone down the drain. Regardless of it's design being the Big Gold, I still don't class it as the same Big Gold that came before it. Yes, they may tie that period of history in with it during promos, etc, but even now for the preview of this match they acknowledge it as being introduced/established in 2002. Conflicting to say the least. I know many do, and that's fair enough, but this is just my personal opinion.

The current Big Gold belt also looks like ****, and is an insult to the orginal one Flair introduced in 85 that lasted all the way through towards the end of WCW. THAT belt is, imo, the most prestigious, historic and famous wrestling belt ever, moreso than the Winged Eagle. As with most belts (Winged Eagle included), they are replaced periodically when the previous one becomes worn and/or damaged, but that Big Gold Flair introduced at JCP in 85 was the exact same belt that lasted for about 14-15 years before it finally disappeared just before WCW went under.

What can I say? It works for me...but I'm not a belt expert...I just know what I like. *shrugs*

There's no question the big gold will be the one to go. We'll have the current design (which I'm ok with) for years to come.

Don't get me wrong dude, I'm not having a go at you. It just annoys me when I look at how great, important and prestigious the Big Gold is or was, compared to what has become of it now both in appearance and prestige.

If I could choose between the two as to which would stay, it would be the Big Gold all day long, but of course it will be the WWE title that takes centre stage. It's a no-brainer in the sense that they are going to keep the title that has been the crown jewel in their company for the last 50 years over a belt that they inherited and that was the crown jewel of a company that could of put Vinny Mac out of business. But I, as I presume all of us would prefer a belt that looks more prestigious and inspiring, over one that's main purpose is to serve as a marketing tool to expand the business empire.

Oh, no worries, dude...it's just a discussion...I'm not in my feelings. lol

I understand your passion about championship belts, and the significance of the big gold. I started watching in the mid-80s, so what that belt represents means a lot to me as well. I'll even admit that's part of the reason I have no issues with the world title. In a lot of ways, it's the last piece of an era I grew up with.

While I'm pro-world title, I'm fully behind the concept of elevating both the I-C and U.S. titles back to a level of respectability where they could headline house shows, as they could when I was young.

Not a hope....and in the slim chance that it does, it'll be relegated down the card in favour of the part timers (with Cena in toe) taking centre stage.

I'm also going against the grain here by voicing dismay at the start of this apparent push for Reigns. The guy has potential alright, but I've seen nothing to think he's ready for a prominent position going into WMXXX. Even though Batista lacked strong mic skills when he got his chance, he still had this raw animal charisma and intensity that you could get behind.

I don't see that in Reigns though, and personally I think it'd be hard to get behind him as a face. I'm sure they'll play it as him being too cool for school, in the Kevin Nash mould. But I never liked Nash, and always thought he just came across as a muppet acting as an overgrown kid, even as a face.

Well it's hard to say whether Reigns will be accepted as a face, but I definitely agree about pushing him so soon. Reigns needs at least two more years of seasoning before main-eventing. This is the same thing they did with Ryback last year, except Reigns is much better. Reigns has potential, but he needs time to grow.

This is just typical WWE, taking guys who has the preferred look and attempting to push instead of using the guys that have gotten themselves massively over with the audience.

What's wrong with the current Big Gold Belt?

This is just me being picky as I'm a bit of a beltmark, but it looks like a toy in comparison to the original.

So I guess the obese version of the Undertaker is the Overtaker? Then you've got:

Quadruple H
"The Meal Deal" Titus O'Neil
Bulk Hogan
Stone Cold Creamery Steve Austin
"Actual Chocolate" Mark Henry

Under-Quaker Oats and I do have Quadruple H.

The rest of those guys aren't available in head mode.

I still miss this belt:

I can fully understand this and I agree. It's just sad to see it being treated so poorly in compariosn as to how it used to be regarded. I'd rather it just be put out of its misery than it having to trail on being what it is now.

Fully agreed. If this potential unification means bringing back some prestige to the IC title and elevating it back up to where it used to be, then I'm all for it.

Total Divas Numbers Fall

E! and Total Divas took a hit in viewership this past Sunday night. The show did only 920,000 views, which is far below the usual average. WWE officials are hoping this is because of the Survivor Series Pay-Per-View that took place at the same time as the show.

The Snake Talks WWE

Jake "The Snake" Roberts took to Twitter last night to comment on a bunch of WWE Superstars, the current product, and more. Speaking on the mixed reaction that World Heavyweight Champion John Cena receives, Jake said the leader of the Cenation is in a "tough spot."

"Cena is booked as a super hero in a time when advanced wrestling fans don't believe in them. Tough spot. Would loved by all years ago."

"But everyone believes evil exists. @WWEBrayWyatt and @WWEAJLee play on that so well. Love the heels they play."

I think AJ just broke into tears upon receiving that endorsement.

- Last night's post-Survivor Series episode of WWE RAW averaged 4.135 million viewers, up 9% from last week's 3.802 million viewers.

This week's show did 4.318 million viewers in the first hour, 4.292 million viewers in the second hour and 3.796 million viewers in the third and final hour.

So, how long has it been since the last "Vince goes on a bloody and violent rage backstage for no apparent reason" reports?

I feel like one of the biggest problems with the company right now is the fact that they don’t bother building up their stars the right way and just shove anyone with potential straight into the main event scene when they’re not all the way there yet.

Whatever happened to the good old days where a wrestler would be built up by first going through the mid-card division and winning the IC or some other belt first before being slowly brought up to the main event stage where they would make it an big event for the moment when that given wrestler would fight for the world championship?

I feel like Money-in-the-bank has really cheapened and robbed people of that process as well, which is a shame.

Just for once I’d like to see a star where they haven’t been crowned world champion yet and where they go through the traditional process of winning mid-card belts before winning the Royal Rumble and facing the champion at the Main Event (which is held at the very end of the show) at Wrestlemania and win their first big championship there.

I think the last wrestler to have done so was Rey Mysterio.
