This belt is VAAAAASTLY overrated.

I almost can't stand it.

I don't love it but I do appreciate it more than the last two WWE Championships. I'll never appreciate a giant logo with diamonds but that's just my perspective. It's all too simple for my taste.

Total Divas Numbers Fall

E! and Total Divas took a hit in viewership this past Sunday night. The show did only 920,000 views, which is far below the usual average. WWE officials are hoping this is because of the Survivor Series Pay-Per-View that took place at the same time as the show.

Uh-oh...a ratings slip! Time to send Natalya and Nikki into another lingerie store to "try on" bras and panties!

John Cena spoke with Neil Cavuto of FOX Business about how long he plans to continue wrestling and also revealed that his character generates $100 million a year for WWE.

Cena says he made a pact with himself to "gracefully walk away" from the company when he feels like he can't hang with the young wrestlers on the roster anymore. He went on to mention that most professional athletes are winding down their careers in their mid-30's, but stopped short of saying how close he is to retirement.

"A lot of these athletes that are married to their sport think this is going to last forever," Cena said. "Then, they blow out an ACL, they look around when they're 35 or 36 and their career is coming to an end and they act like the income stream is going to continue."

Cena also spoke about his new clothing line, "Essentially, the message of the clothing is to empower you through a positive message I think that's why we were able to leverage our brand (WWE), my brand especially with Kmart, because it wasn't just a typical sponsor deal. A lot of athletes get a sponsorship - 'here's your upfront money, we're going to use your likeness.' I wanted to hold on to my asset, do it correctly, and create an inspirational line. So, it's not a 'wrestling-driven' line. The line is called 'Never Give Up,' and truly my character on WWE plays one of aspiration, inspiration, and motivation. I try to defy all odds and do what I can to do the right thing."

He added, "Kmart picked up on this concept. And, from a branding standpoint, I just didn't outright leverage myself; I wanted a piece and equity in the brand. So, there was upfront money, plus equity in the brand."

If it does go, I won't. As has been said the importance of that title has gone down the drain. Regardless of it's design being the Big Gold, I still don't class it as the same Big Gold that came before it. Yes, they may tie that period of history in with it during promos, etc, but even now for the preview of this match they acknowledge it as being introduced/established in 2002. Conflicting to say the least. I know many do, and that's fair enough, but this is just my personal opinion.

That's weird. A few months ago they acknowledge WCW titleholders at that one RAW where they had both champions face each other. They even acknowledged Sting as a title holder.

This is just me being picky as I'm a bit of a beltmark, but it looks like a toy in comparison to the original.

Looks like the difference is that WCW used varnish on the title and WWE didn't.

I prefer it to the Big Eagle, Spinner, Stone Cold, WWECW, and new WWE titles, but like Big Gold and Winged Eagle more.

Winged Eagle is my #1 (Beautiful title with so much prestige with Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Macho Man, HBK, Bret Hart, and others with Stone Cold being the last to hold it), then Big Eagle (I got into wrestling during this time), then Big Gold, then spinner (It was cool when John Cena first introduced it but they should have ditched it when he lost the title the first time like they did with Stone Cold) then Smoking Skull (only when Stone Cold had), then Undisputed title (It's an okay title but I never like how Oval the title is).

I feel like one of the biggest problems with the company right now is the fact that they don’t bother building up their stars the right way and just shove anyone with potential straight into the main event scene when they’re not all the way there yet.

Whatever happened to the good old days where a wrestler would be built up by first going through the mid-card division and winning the IC or some other belt first before being slowly brought up to the main event stage where they would make it an big event for the moment when that given wrestler would fight for the world championship?

I feel like Money-in-the-bank has really cheapened and robbed people of that process as well, which is a shame.

Just for once I’d like to see a star where they haven’t been crowned world champion yet and where they go through the traditional process of winning mid-card belts before winning the Royal Rumble and facing the champion at the Main Event (which is held at the very end of the show) at Wrestlemania and win their first big championship there.

I think the last wrestler to have done so was Rey Mysterio.

I hope they bring that back with Daniel Bryan for the next Royal Rumble so he can have an actual reign. It's sad that Daniel Bryan had won the championship twice and held it for a total of 21 hours, 5 minutes or something like that.

Seriously, why does Vince have such a hard-on for this matchup when there are other wrestlers who are more popular that give a better matchup to Cena? They should have let Daniel Bryan win the championship when he should have.

Yeah, I know. They seem to do whatever suits them at the time.

Per WWE.com:
With not one, but both World Titles hanging in the balance, World Heavyweight Champion John Cena will face WWE Champion Randy Orton in an historic Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match. The watershed contest will leave one Superstar in possession of both World Titles, a feat that has never been accomplished since the World Heavyweight Title was introduced in September 2002.

Actually, the original Big Gold was hand engraved on sterling silver and the raised spots were then plated in gold. The original WWE version was engraved also and plated in gold (and looked 10 times better than the current WWE version). The current WWE version is a cast of a mould that has then been plated, though due to the casting, the detail has been severely degraded.

So WWE.com has given a storyline update on Bryan and apparenty the Wyatts locked him in a truck and drove away

I wouldn't take that as them not acknowledging the previous history, but more them acknowledging the current iteration of the title than the actual physical belt's history since there is a difference with this title. I mean, this is the first time that a physical belt has been used in a different company in a non-NWA capacity.

Thanks for details. I wish WWE had more of that attention to detail for the World Heavyweight title.

Considering that their gimmick is kinda Deliverance-esque, and Bryan has been referred to as a farm animal before, I'd be a bit worried where this is gonna go....

I think what they meant by this was that before the belt was introduced in 2002, it had been held by someone with both world titles (Y2J, HHH). But since 2002 no one has done it.

Possibly, it still seems rather unclear and confusing to say the least though.

No worries, I usually go OTT when it comes to championship belts, lol. :woot:

Possibly, though when they say 'introduced', it almost sounds as though they are trying to portray a newly established title with it's own individual continuity. I guess it's all in how you look at it.

I was really hoping the episode would end with him tied up in the back and Bray Wyatt attempting to "choppy choppy your peepee."

He's already returned on a few occasions for those god-awful One Night Only shows.

I didn't realize until seeing this comparison just how cheap the WHC now looks, you are right. :(

- Last night's post-Survivor Series episode of WWE RAW averaged 4.135 million viewers, up 9% from last week's 3.802 million viewers.

This week's show did 4.318 million viewers in the first hour, 4.292 million viewers in the second hour and 3.796 million viewers in the third and final hour.

I saw this elsewhere and the hilarious arguments fans were having as last week some were gloating because the numbers for the 3rd hour dropped with Punk and Bryan, this week they dropped even further with Cena and Orton. :funny:

Maybe WWE should realize that maybe fans would just prefer a 2 hour Raw with a clearer tightened focus and less filler?

Shark Boy already returned last week. EC3 beat the shell out of him.

Unless they're sheep, I don't know how any sane wrestling fan can take 3 hours of Raw.
