"You ready for another Bout?"- The Thor/Chris Hemsworth Thread

Thor has also been fighting for a millennium so he'd be pretty used to it. He was born to be a warrior and before being humbled in THOR he longed for battle.

Because "Thor is a warrior born!"

Thor is just badass.

It showed in the final battle in Avengers. Each Avenger had a moment where they were in trouble, Stark getting bombarded, Hulk getting bombarded with Lasers, and was down for a few minutes, and Cap getting shot. One after the other, then they showed Thor, who not only wasn't in trouble, but he kept going.

It seemed so intense for all the other avengers, but Thor's body language, it just seemed like another day in the life for Thor. Just another battle.

Indeed; aside from the Hulk being the Hulk, every other Avenger that wasn't Thor seemed like this was the first time that they were fighting a battle of such high intensity and one where they were going up against the foes out of their territory.

Which is kind of why I'd like to see Thor take on some Earthly villains just to see the "Oh Crap, we're screwed" look on the faces of any earthly villain that has the bad luck of running into Thor when causing a scene.

Thor's not someone who's not seriously affected by being in numerous wars, he's just simply "above" that type of stuff.

You know, I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a scene between Thor and Captain America someday where they both lament about the numerous wars and battles that they've been involved in, with Thor obviously having a larger history than Steve in that department and even Steve asking Thor on how Thor still never gets weary from it all after having experienced it for so long; something that you'd hear brothers-in-arms talk to each other about.

I would say that everybody seemed to be taking it well except Tony (as shown in IM3) and to a lesser extent BW.

That would be a nice character interaction moment, I sure hope Joss does something similar to this between the two.

That would be cool. I'd also like to see Hawkeye give his opinion on Thor, seeing how he has actually seen what Thor is like as a mortal.

You know, I wonder if this film will reveal if Odin also has a closet full of "skeletons"; aka showing that Odin isn't the clean cut King that he was portrayed as in "Thor".

The reason why I bring this up is because one of the interviews mentioned on how Thor will finally get a better idea on all of the burdens and bad stuff that comes with being the King of Asgard and seeing as how Thor is getting closer towards reaching the throne, I wonder if they'll throw us a temporary curve ball by having Thor question as to whether he still wants to take that position when it's finally time.

In the first film, Thor was excited to finally ascend to the Throne when he thought his time has arrived, so it'd make for a interesting story for Thor if he wonders that being King of Asgard is the right thing for him.

Wasn't there a story line in the comics where Thor gave the crown to balder instead?

That would be an interesting thing for them to explore, I'd like to see some of the stuff Odin isn't too proud of. It's definately within character for Thor to question whether he wants to be King of Asgard or not.

Yes in the comics Thor gave the crown over to Balder, sometimes willingly other times unwillingly like when he killed Bor.

Now that you mentioned him; that's a god I'd love to see in the MCU.

Hell yes, they talked about Odin's father imprisoning the Dark Elves so hopefully they show him kicking ass in a flashback. They also mentioned that the prison Loki is in was built by Thor's great grandfather Buri, so it would be nice to atleast get a shot of him as well.'

Every since I read that comic where Bor gets brought back to life and fights Thor I wanted to see him on the big screen.

Yeah, some flashbacks of both could be great.

I think it was a typo. I only saw one article say that Odin's father trapped the Dark Elves. Every single other article of the topic said that it was Odin. Plus, Malekith wants revenge anyway, so Odin makes more sense. Plus, 5,000 years ago. I mean 1,000 years ago Odin looked like an old man, so I think he must have been king for a very, very long time.

Okay cool, I'd rather Odin be the one to trap Malekith anyway since I've wanted to see more from since day 1. I can't way to see what kind of powers Odin uses to imrpison the Dark Elves, I hope it's 10x cooler than Odin vs the Frost Giants.

I still hope we see Bor and Buri in flashbacks when delving into Asgards history, especially Buri since he built Asgard's prison.

Yeah, some flashbacks of both could be great.

Agreed

Well, we do know that Odin's father is responsible for making the prison cells that Loki is entrapped in; I think either Tom or Chris confirmed that.

Odin's grandfather actually, his name is "Buri" Craig Kyle confirmed it in an analysis of the full trailer.

I'm glad Hemsworth is getting raves for Rush. :woot:

One thing, I like about Chris,
from role to role ,
he never looks exactly the same .
I think that he makes every effort to dissapear into his roles.

He dropped 30 pounds of muscle for Rush which I find to be a very major commitment for a role. Very admirable.

Pics from the Thor Disney broadcast.

NOTE: THIS ISN'T A BOOT LEG VIDEO. THIS WAS BROADCAST ON NATIONAL TELEVISION.

Where's the shot of one of the Asgardian soldiers leaping into that force field?
