Apocalypse Young X-Men: Recruited or Already Enrolled, what would you prefer?

So assuming these are all good guys what would you prefer for Scott, Jean, Ororo, Kurt and [Ben Hardys character]?

I wanna see these characters get recruited. I want to see the origins of these guys, and Singer mentioned that he sees Apocalypse as the Origin for the X Men as we know them.

Whatever works. My biggest concern is their recruitment being too much of a retread of First Class.

I'd like to see Nightcrawler and Jean already at the school but not X-Men just Students then Xavier takes Jean with him to recruit Storm, Scott and Ben Hardys character. They then become the X-Men.

Any combination really but I think having some already students and one or two of them going with Xavier to recruit the others as living and relatable examples of the school helping them would be cool, like in X-Men Evolution.

I'd like to see background origin scenes for all of them but that may not be possible so in order this is who I'd like to have an origin most:

Cyclops
Storm
Nightcrawler
Angel (if that's Ben Hardys character
Jean

It shouldn't be a montage this time. It has to be sprinkled throughout the movie.

Oh and a good way to avoid a retread of the recruitment scene in First Class. Use far superior characters than second-rate characters like Angel, Darwin; which this movie does.

And better scenarios. No scene in a strip club, in a cab and in an aquarium with shoddily-rendered fish.

don't we know storm's not recruited? i thought she was still living in Africa, hence the "snowing in Egypt" hint from someone a while back.

and i'm guessing there'd be a bit of a fight over angel between Xavier and Apocalypse. It'd be biblical.

I'd like it if Xavier is already training them as the movie begins. I don't need to see the recruitment of these characters again. Plus, this is Apocalypse. I'd like more focus to be on building him up to his fullest extent, and seeing the building beginning relationships of the X-Men.

I think they should already be in the house as the movie begins, we know who these characters are already.

That would be sweet. I would like for Xavier to push them harder knowing how the future might end up. Remember he saw the future, but doesn't know for sure if he prevented the sentinel take over.

Wrote this in another thread, but I always thought it would be great to see Cyclops and Marvelgirl (and maybe another, like Quicksilver) already at the mansion, with Beast and Professor, and they then go to meet/recruit Nightcrawler. Upon leaving Professor X (and Jean) sense a disturbance in Egypt, which is the awakening of Apocalypse, and Ororo and Gambit are part of it. They divert and arrive in time to save Ororo and they escape back to the mansion, which would then have the following members there:

Professor X (Mentor)
Beast (Inventor/Instructor)

Cyclops (Learning to be the Field Leader)
Jean
Ororo
Nightcrawler
Gambit
Quicksilver (but he will leave with his daddy at some point in the story)

That's a great team and makes so much sense. It doesn't waste a lot of time having us see Cyclops being recruited from the orphanage, or Jean being recruited at home, but it does enable us to see the circus in Germany (for Kurt) and the whole Egyptian/Cairo/Pyramid stuff (for Ororo - (and Gambit)). It also ties in things like Ororo and Gambit both being thieves (per canon) and the Egyptian connection between Ororo and Apocalypse (per canon) and the freidnship between a young Storm and an older brother type Gambit (per canon).

Also (and I wrote a story for this in another thread) a Danger Room sequence with Cyclops, Jean and Quicksilver would be amazing! (my story had the sequence taking place in a jungle, which is a nod to the Savage Land).

I'd say after the scene in DOFP where Logan talks to Xavier about bringing the X-Men together it wouldn't make much sense if 10 year later, Charles hasn't recruited a single mutant to the school. I think it would work well to have Scott and Jean already at the school at the beginning of the movie. It would be ideal if we got glimpses of their recruitment, years earlier, during Xavier's opening monologue (he better have one!). Show Scott at an orphanage, Jean witnessing her friend's death, etc. That would also cement Scott and Jean as more "senior" members.

Then throughout the course of the movie have them recruit Kurt and Storm (especially important and relevant due to the Africa/Egypt connection with Apocalypse).

I definitely want to see Storm be recruited, and I hae a feeling Nightcrawler won't start out at the school, so I think we'll see how he gets there. I'd be fine with Cyclops and Jean already there, along with Beast, as the more foundational members, but I still want some origin scene for Cyclops (a scene when his powers manifest or even earlier when he's orphaned, or a mix of the two where his powers manifest after watching his parents die) at the beginning of the movie like we've seen with Magneto, Jean, Angel, Magneto again, Xavier, and Mystique.

Let's have them in the school at the start, and not labour the point.

They way I'd do it is that the film opens with an ancient Apocalypse scene, then we get the title sequence, and quick glimpses of Xavier recruiting. Then bam, "present" day, and on we go

After that opening in Ancient Egypt, I'm guessing there's a credits sequence and then a Danger Room sequence with the X-Men.

Recruiting was already used in FC and, tbh, it was very boring. Maybe one or two new recruit attempts along the course of the film.

I liked the recruiting and the training sequence, it felt very X-Men to me

The recruiting scene works because they used C and D list characters that didn't draw focus from Xavier and Magneto. It'd feel anticlimactic if Cyclops, Jean and Storm just got a 30 second "Oh what can you do?" scene.

The recruiting scene in FC was alot of fun but no need to replicate it.

Would it be a missed opportunity to not show where they were before xavier found them? It could take up to 2 minutes or less each, it doesn't need to be 10 minutes or anything, doesn't have to feel rushed either
