For every movie, there was a villian.Someone you would love to hate, through out the films there were villians. Some were constant, others were single time appearences.

    Who is your favorite?

Top contenders for me would be Goldfinger,Scaramanga,Kristatos,Kamal Khan,Treveryan,Jaws,Oddjob and Blofeld.

Given historical frequency & importance,I think I shall have to say Blofeld.

The early Blofeld was great. But he got soft after OHMSS, sadly, and his demise was very disappointing. Goldfinger was the greatest one-time mastermind villain. And Largo was a great one too. I love the bit when he starts torturing Domino. It used to give me chills when I was a kid. It still does.

Hmn,i see.Well,i can imagine that this one would be used.Since, yes i did research and the poll is rather impressive.

Note-The character Blofeld did appear in more than one Bond movie, but i could not list all of them because it was too much for the poll ballot.

My favorite villians would be Jaws,Treveryan and Blofeld.

    Auric Goldfinger.

To this day,he has not yet been topped IMO.You can keep your cat stroking villains, voodoo bad guys, island dwelling assasins, space conquering entrepeneurs, bitter ex licence to kill agents, media crazy moguls, terrorists with bullets in their brains etc [not that I dislike these villains],but Auric Goldfinger stands imperially above them all IMO.

His plan was simple yet brilliant. His manner was charming, yet sinister. His greed was unlike any I've ever seen. He'll do ANYTHING to win,be at a simple game of cards,a golf match,or avoiding paying his debts to his criminal underworld buddies.

He has one of the strongest and most fanatically loyal henchmen ever. And his methods of smuggling gold abroad is genius.Melt it down and make it part of his rolls royce.Brilliant.

Don't even THINK of betraying him.You could wind up a gold painted corpse.Cross him and he'll try and fry your nuts with a laser.

Auric Goldfinger is a god amongst Bond super villains.

Blofeld and Goldfinger are the best. Blofeld is the classic Bond villain and Goldfinger is the one that really stands out. BTW, why is Oddjob listed with Thunderball? He was in Goldfinger.

i never understood why so many people like 006... to me, he was mediocre, at best... i guess it's just because GoldenEye was so popular to start with, what with its being the first Bond film in 6 years, but 006, IMO, is highly overrated... same goes for Scaramanga... i never understood why so many people like him, either... people go on about both of these characters, talking about how they're Bond's equal or his opposite, but i see them both as over-hyped and weak...

    *shrug*

i guess everyone has their own tastes...

I think Scaramanga was a great badguy, played by a rgeat actor, but in a terrible movie, which spoiled the character's potential to me. 006 was a good badguy, but he was not in his right place as the mastermind: he should have been the right-hand man and the field commander, and there should have been a much older leader. I also think Trevelyan got popular because of Goldeneye more than because he was a great villain. It is was a good villain but flawed, a more personnal foe for Bond than Donald Grant. They made the same mistake with both Trevelyan and Scaramanga: instead of keeping them Bond's dopplegangers, they made them the masterminds.

For some reason, the only Blofeld who ever struck me as a real villain was Telly Savalas.

Savalas's Blofeld looked and acted a bit too much like a mobster. He lacked something. And he was way too active in the movie. I think the best Blofeld is the early one, when you don't see his face. The voice is perfect.

I voted for Blofeld first, but after reading this, I change my vote to Goldfinger. I guess it helps when you have all of his badassery listed in front of you all at once.

But Donald Pleasence's Blofeld was still awesome. I wish I could feed my minions to fish. :(

I love Goldfinger but I just can't go against Sean Bean. He's played so many traitors over the years. GoldenEye, Patriot Games, LotR, National Treasure. My favourite actor.

He's still the best Bond villain to date IMO. Even after seeing Casino Royale, which had a great villain. Auric still wears the crown of greatest villain in the Bond movies.

Like I said on 3-28-2006, Goldfinger is the best because he stands out. Let's face it, guys. All these Bonds villains are pretty much the same. All they wanna do is take over the world. Goldfinger was unique in that he didn't care about that. He was just a greedy bastard. Goldfinger was about greed not domination.

Plus, it helped that he had the best dialogue:

James Bond: Do you expect me to talk?
Auric Goldfinger: No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die.

My favourite villain of all time is Elliott Carver from Tomorrow Never Dies, he was brilliantly insane.
Then I would say Khamal Khan from Octopussy and Jaws.

the best villian for me was the blofeld from " from russia with love ".
But Auric goldfinger is a close second. They are both the true essence of a bond villian.
