Favourite posters....hmmmm....well where do I begin. I could begin at when I first joined the hype back in July 2003, which was just over 3 years ago.
Everyone with posts over 4,000 seemed big and important....with post count came wisdom or so I thought. But later on I've come to realise that it's not how big your post count is, It's how well you make people laugh.
There are definetely some posters here that I do not get and probably will never get why they are so popular. One in particular is Kypade. Don't ask me why, but everyone proclaims he is a genius....maybe he is....but none of the posts I have read back this up. There are many people I consider to be my favourite poster for many different reasons. I suppose I have some free time on my hands (It being 12.43am at this time and me not wanting to go up to bed) so I will list the posters that have inspired me/made me laugh and/or generally give me a reason for coming to the hype.
This is in no particular order...I love/hate you all equally.
Holly Goodhead
I remember when I was still a vunerable little hypster. Still naive and full of s**te. You used to scare me. I don't know what it was but there was something about you that made me hate your guts. I think it was the profanity and use of vulgar imagery to get your point across. The time I saw you get banned sticks out in my mind quite heavily. You posted a pic of some dead baby in a tube...or something similiar. This gave me an utter hate for your guts. But first impressions don't always last eh? I've come to love your sarcasm, your dominance as one of the most catty females(?) on this board but mostly, I love your claws. Especially when they are razor sharp. When you lay it down....you lay it DOWN. I also love the fact that whenever I'm about to read a Holly post...I get myself ready to endure a sickening/sarcastic comment to comeback some poor little soul...whoever that may be at the time. You deserve being one of my favourites.
Wilhelm Scream
I know Wilhelm will definetely be on many people's lists and there is a good reason why. No, he's not over-rated. Just because he's on many people's lists does not automatically mean that he is over-rated (See every thread to do with under/overrating someone/something.) Wilhelm has to be one of the most kickass posters on these boards. First and foremost, because he makes me laugh. If Wilhelm's in a thread....I check him out. Not like you'd check out the busty schoolnurse as you purposely graze your knees just to catch a glimpse of her cleavage. (Boobs) No.....not like that at all. Wilhelm's posts are very knowledgeable...he seems to know everything that is relevant in this life and he makes being a geek COOL. Of course his humour does not relate to everyone ::COUGH::Phantasm::COUGH:: But his insightful posts that splice humour, nostalgia and a little bit of rock and/or roll give him a RIGHT and the PRIVILIDGE to be on my list. If it wasn't for Wilhelm....I wouldn't wet my pants on a regular basis. No he isn't like putting your hand in warm water when your asleep but I love his sarcasm....like Holly, he is very blunt. Yet he does it very well. Like a ninja....one that carries with him a 1980's guide to television. Of course.
That's two posters down. Quite a few more down. You'll see who else I pick in Part 2 of my post
