Kind of an old casting rumor but when everyone was convinced that they offered the role of The Penguin to Phillip Seymour Hoffman and that he'd be an arms dealer.

I think my mind is messing with me but, regarding this one rumor.. wasn't Phillip Seymour Hoffman listed on IMDb TDK cast list once..? Like, the rumor got really far away..

I had a feeling that these rumors were absolute garbage from Day 1, and I hoped to hell that these things wouldn't appear in the film. There are others which wouldn't have ruined the movie for me, but would feel out of place and therefore I'm glad they didn't occur:

5. Anthony Michael Hall plays the Riddler in a cameo appearance

6. Batman unveils a new batmobile based on the Lamborghini Bruce drives in the film

This rumor blew out of proportion. So much so that the local news in Rochester, NY said that Hoffman (who was from the area) had signed on to play the Penguin in the film (which is where I first heard that rumor).

Im so glad personally that AMH had no signifigance in the film really and that his character was one dimensional, how could that be the best role of his life? lol

The rumors about Bruce's car having missles and actually turning into the new batmobile always made me laugh, and Im truly glad that it didnt happen, that woulda been cheesy as hell.

Really old rumor. Some people speculated AMH was the real Joker.

This is single handedly, without a doubt, the DUMBEST thing I have ever heard.

Anyone who believed that is an absolute f--king idiot. And if you read this, believed that, and are offended, just look in the mirror and realize that you though Anthony..Michael...Hall was the Joker, and you will then realize that I am correct, and you are an idiot. you cant blame her tho, that was just what she had heard from her sources. Im fairly sure she reported them as rumors too.

* Bruce goes on a date with a woman named Selina at the end.

* AMH turns out to be the Riddler.

* Heaths Joker is a fake Joker.

* The Penguin is a british arms dealer who pop's up played by either Philip Seymore Hoffman or Bob Hoskins.

* The Showdown takes place at a deserted theme park.

* The Batmobile gets ruined by the joker spraying it with Acid.

* Batman needs a new suit after The Joker sprays it with acid.

* The opening scene was a flash back of leslie Thompkins.

* John Cusack was heard on a radio interview saying he starts filming the new Batman movie soon as Harvey Dent.

* Alfred dresses as Batman.

* We'd see the Joker from a fear gas perspective.

* there would be flash backs featuring training with people other than Ra's.

-I remember Jett from BOF reporting, only a few months after that BB came out, that the climax of the BB sequel would be a fight between Joker and Batman in the top story of a dilapidated apartment building.----Actually pretty close to what happens.

-Another one was Batman trying to get rid of one Joker's bombs, driving the Tumbler into the river to contain the blast, and then getting his suit water logged and leaving him in need of a new vehicle and suit.

There was one rumor that was debunked, but actually WAS in the movie. The scene where Gordon puts a gun to the Joker's head and J says: "Could you give us a minute?" I'm really glad it was in, because I've loved it ever since I first heard it.

I remember reading an article about a rumor that The Joker would spit acid in his goons faces after the semi flip all leading up to him saying that line. I knew right off the bat (pun intended) that the rumor was obviously false but I had always hoped the "Could you give us a minute?" line was true. Some other favorite rumors that were debunked.

- Gotham would go through a "white night"
- The people of Gotham would hide in their homes in fear of the Joker.
- When Heath talked about having to wear a mask or prosthetics some people assumed Joker would wear clown make up on a flesh colored mask which he would wear over perma white skin.
- Joker would burn a huge acid hole into the tumbler which would force Batman into using the bat-pod.
- The movie would take place around Christmas because Bruce had "white Christmas lights" on the walls of his penthouse.
