Seriously, we should try to figure out whether or not there's a correlation between x-gals being infatuated with/in awe of/apprentice to Wolvie and LAMENESS.

Kitty's friendship with Logan is ok. It grew naturally with her getting the benefit of Logan's trademark voice of experience from time to time. She also formed a close relationship with at least Storm and Nightcrawler. The connection between Jubilee and Logan was much more annoying. It started with them being stuck together because of circumstances, but then Jubilee decided that Logan is the most awesome thing, like, ever and she spent much of her time telling that to everyone. Like the teenagers reading the X-Men wouldn't have recognised Wolverine's coolness without her creepy hero-worship.

Eh. The original X-Men have a lot of fans because they've been around forever, and four of them (Cyke, Jean, Iceman, and Beast) have been mainstays in the X-Book since their creation.

The fact that the X-Men: TAS characters get a lot of love isn't a surprise, as you said. A lot of folks here got their start with that series.
