I hear ya. Similar thing happened to me a month ago(minus slamming into car in front of me). Repairs cost more than the car's technical worth and I didn't have the extra that insurance wouldn't pay. Totally paid off the car too; I'm still car-hunting.

So did the other person's insurance cut you a check? How does it work?

My insurance covers it, but the money they'd put into my car work/medical bills, they get from the other driver's insurance.

Regarding the car, if totaled, they'd pay whatever the worth of the car is based on the model, year, and mileage and on the condition you kept it in.

I hate people that take advantage of me at work, by being lazy ****s because they know I'll do the work for them in the end because I don't want the customer to suffer for their ridiculous lack of effort.

And the worst thing - when I actually DON'T do it for once, they get pissy with me...

Agreed. I dunno, it's just difficult when you know you're spending 8 hours a day with this 57 year old woman, and the worst thing you can do for yourself is fall out with her constantly, because it's a tiny office and you have no where to hide and no one else to talk too.

I'm in advertisement sales with a local newspaper. I started out in the main office with a staff of about 30 people, but was asked to cover in the small office in another town when this woman's old colleague quit. It made sense I was asked. I lived right around the corner from the office, my section was the easiest to be moved to a different location and, as I said, i'm a pretty agreeable person so they knew they wouldn't get much complaint from me.

I've been down here over a year now , and the last 6 months of that my colleague has been off long term sick because of an operation and various other things, so i've pretty much been alone in this cold office with no radio, no computer and about 3 customers a day who are all moaning old women wanting to complain about news stories (and will not listen when I tell them I don't deal with that side of things).

But don't worry. I finish on friday
