I think it should start off with a flash back to the Joker's origin. You see a criminal, maybe not in a big red helmet but maybe in a unique looking red ski mask, running from the cops in a chemical plant, they corner him on a cat walk, one officer shoots, it hits near his foot, the criminal jumps back, hits the guard rail and topples over, then Sploosh!, he hits the toxic vat below!

Then you see after the cops leave a hand rise from the sludge and dramatically he rises as the Joker with a horrific scream.

Then the bats flock, maybe a voice over of Batman recapping his life so far, or somekind of recap, then the logo and it'll say The Dark Knight, or it could lead into him saying something like "I am Gotham's guardian, I am The Dark Knight", then the title comes up. :woot:

maybe it should start years in the future, snow covers old Wayne Manor and an elderly Bruce Wayne sits down alone next to a fireplace[his face his never seen]. He starts to remeber his time as Batman[useing a voiceover] and how his crusade on crime cost him a life full of love. We then see old pictures of the various women in Bruce Life hung on the wall.Old Bruce does not regret becomeing Batman, but he regrets not giving it up to soon. Instead of a family and friends Bruce ended up old, bitter, and alone. Bruce then remebers his greatest exploits as Batman, and the first time he took on his greatest enemy the Joker.

Bruce just starts as Batman, how the hell he retires in the second movie? I wish NOT to see Batman Beyond live-action movie yet.

It should start with the bat signal, a cackling laugh and an explosion.

some sort fo action sequence featuring da bat mobile

I want it to start with Bruce in a robe, with the Batman cowl on eating a steak and egg ranchero sandwich.

Gordon and Batman on a rooftop. They are discussing the joker when Gordon mentions the other relevant villains in the film (Penguin, Black Mask, whoever) when Gordon mentions that a new D.A./ Assistant D.A has been chosen and he's meeting with them tomorrow. Open on Dent and Gordon talking.

Works for me

I think it should start out with the Gotham PD going to a crime scene and finding the victim's body with an unnatural smile frozen on the victim's face.

I think he means for the entire movie to be a flashback. Sort of like Saving Private Ryan.

nolan already stated its going to pick up directly from the end of batman begins so theres your answer

Does that mean Cillian Murphy will be back as Scarecrow? I could see Batman looking for Crane.

I think batman should be killed in the first few seconds, but it's in the future, then the whole film is before that, and we never get upto the point he dies, we just know that he gets killed at some point, possibly after 2 or 20 movies!

I'd like it to start out with a foot chase between batman and joker through the rooftops that really takes place 2/3 into the story, followed by how the two main players got to that position. I didnt really know how to explain it, I hope that made sense.

I'd like to see Batman looking for Arkham prisoners, who escaped in BB

That would be the worst beginning! And I don't want flashback movie like Daredevil :down

Not a flashback, just a separate scene of him dieing, then the other scenes, more like 21 grams(which i don't like as a narrative), so it's just a scene, and makes people think WTF? For marketing, it develops massive hype for future films, "who killed him? what happened etc?"

I agree. Or some kind of sequence to show how Gotham has changed since Batmans been around.

I think it'd be great if the film started off in Arkham, with guards escorting Joker to his court trial. From here, they can follow LH by having Joker/Maroni exchanging a bottle of acid, and then we see Joker smiling fiendishly.

Following that, we flash back to all the events that have occurred before this trial, how it happened, who was involved, etc. Nolan can intercut these flashbacks, with the present trial (it'd be neat if the testimonies themselves told the film). Finally the film comes full circle at the end, and leads us to the climax of the trial scene which would be Harvey Dent's scarring.

I think that'd be a great way to tell the film, as it hasn't been done in comic book films to such a degree. Plus it fits real well with how Nolan likes to do his filmmaking.

I'd like the film to open with another childhood flashback...something that jolts him out of his sleep and makes him remember his parents...like what we got in Begins, but different situation...different setting....maybe a family atmosphere that he now longs for...even recalling the death of his parents...set the tone once again as to why he does what he does...

Something simple....let the movie then unfold as it may..

And that's a great idea I think. Maybe too early for the sequel but a great idea no less...I would love to see an older 'retired' Bruce Wayne at some point in this story recalling his days as Batman...maybe a great way to end the series off???
I dont know but makes for cool storytelling...and that doesnt have to have anything to do with Batman Beyond...an old retired Bruce doesnt necessarily mean that.

No, it won't work.

It will kill the movie.

Just ask other Bat-fans, this will be very big mistake.

I think it would be better beginning for 3rd movie.

it's something different to most of the suggestions, I'm thinking out of the box, I want something special, the kind of film that people thought BB was. granted it's a little obscure, but why not? It's better than 'a generic action sequence' etc
