Your Watchmen casting

Okay.....So what about this....

Okay I will admit that Jason Lee isn't the best choice for Rorschach but I think that Cary Elwes as Ozimandias is a stroke of Genius

Cary Elwes...I dig. I would like him more as Dr. Manhattan though. The man is a very good actor and his origin and that bitter sweet ending would suit him perfectly as an actor...I can just see him easily pulling off a lot of these great scenes like
when Dr. Manhattan leaves for mars and when he finds niteowl and his wife naked near the pool and his whole ending with Ozymandius.

Jason Lee I can easily see as the younger Comedian...The older one too, if they sacrifice the size.

hmmm...I've never thougt of Elwes as Dr Manahttan....Manhattan is one I've been having trouble casting...though I am actually thinking Clancy Brown for Dr M....I know a lot have been saying Clancy fo Comedian, but I watch Superman TAS and I think Luthor has the voice for Manhattan...and Clancy could do it.

Cary Elwes would have been perfect for Ozymandias 10 years ago, but he's let himself go. He looks more like Nite Owl now.

Then he could get back in shape.....I don't want him to play Nite Owl....I want him as Ozymandias

He's alright but the thing is, there are better suited actors.

What abut Jason Statham?

Where could he fit in?

Rorschach maybe? Perhaps Dr Manhattan......I dunno

Thing is you gotta remember that these guys are all old now. This film can't be cast with a bunch of teeny boppers (Which I know none of you are) So the Guys Like Elwes and Burns and Farina are all right around the proper age for this story....well maybe Farnia's a little old.

I Google Image searched "Watchmen Movie" and found this. Now, of course its not real, but what are your thoughts on this cast? I think Mel Gibson fits Comedian, personally.

Gibson as Comedian...hmm. Interesting choice.

And Statham would make a pretty goo Rorschach if it weren't for the curly red hair and having to be inhumanly ugly (so whoever gets the role should feel both honored and insulted.:D).

Christian Bale would be an awesome Dr. Manhattan, and I feel the one-actor-one-comic-role rule shouldnt apply to stories like Watchmen which exist outside the normal DC or Marvel Universes.

Gibson is not an interesting choice for the Commedian....the onyl one of thise options that is any good that hasn't been said is Ed Harris as Dr Manhattan, but he is too old.

I could see John Cusack and Ralph Fiennes working.

I like it though. I can really picture him from the
attempted rape to vietnam to the riot to the party where he meets his daughter to the murder.
Really try to picture it.

Yeah, I never thought of Carrey for Deilberg--he could work.

Anyway, here's a suggestion: Edward Norton as Rorshach?

Hmm...he could do it, I think. He's a very good actor--the only thing I really can't see him do at this point is that cold, monotone voice and the narration. I think he could, but I can't see it right now; and that is, to me, a very important part of Rorschach. Why else do you think my first suggestion was Edward Norton (the king of badass narrations in movies)?

I just cannot see Gibson as the Comedian....No Mayyer what I do I cannot see it.

Gibson as the Comedian to me is like Bob Saget as Nit Owl.......Hmmmm

Actually......

His voice just isn't what I imagined. It's too...nasaly...Not nearly gravely enough.

In my book, Ed Norton can do any role he wants. But I see him more as NiteOwl than Rorschach.

Exactly. He's much more fitting for a guy like like Niteowl than Rorschach. As awesome as Norton would be for the character of Rorschach, he'd still be missing that voice...unless...They do it in post. That would be even better actually. So it isn't obvious that
the crazy guy with the sign
is Rorschach...Although in this case a lesser known would work to the advantage of the movie and it'd be a wonderful suprise...In fact I hope they never reveal who is playing Rorschach before the movie is out of theaters or something. That is just part of the suprise...Although they'd probably do something like reveal who's playing
"Crazy sign guy"
and then it'd be obvious who this guy is to all those who read the book.
