You're wrong here most people who worked on the movie has even said about 10% of what we saw in JL was Snyder. The rest was Joss. They pretty much reshot the whole movie and just CGI the actors together because all their schedule conflicted with the reshoot time table.

that may be the case bit i still disagree with people blaming Joss for all that happened to the movie. He got hired for a job and was given instructions and he carried them out.

I don't blame him fully for this mess (that goes for producers butting their heads in), but his reshoots certainly didn't help the situation.

Like, I genuinely want to hear an unironic argument on how "landing on boobs" and alien probing jokes were a good addition to the movie. :funny:

I didn't say a good bit of the movie was reshot. I said that the changes made to the specific elements I outlined were mostly accomplished by cutting things that were already shot, not "massive reshoots" that replaced those edited elements. The Evil Superman and Superman/Cyborg scene would be the only sequences out of the ones I mentioned that were massively reshot on any level.

From what standpoint? One of Joss's goals was to appeal to general audiences, and the general audiences I was with seemed to enjoy both bits.

Ah, so because the audience you were with enjoyed it (and let's not bring up the fact that you are one of the few people on here who's been defending the movie thus putting it into question how unbiased your argument is here), that automatically means everyone else did and it was a good thing.

Sure, Jan. :o

I also enjoyed the movie but in the same knowing what I know about the movie I will say it leaves a bitter feeling as well.

So...your logical fallacy is noted, but I don't really see the point in seriously arguing the good VS bad of a couple of jokes that were inserted because the studio thought the movie needed a couple of lowest common denominator jokes. We could talk about the social responsibility of said jokes VS simply labeling them GOOD VS EVIL, but jokes tend to not be awfully socially responsible sometimes. Of course there are jokes that are.

Some people will like them. Some won't. Others will pretend to not like them because some are vocal about disliking them. Others will pretend to like them because someone is vocal about liking them. Others won't care because...couple of jokes in a movie they don't care much about.

We overthinking things yet?

There is a bit of overthinking going on.

Jokes dont land for every one. so saying a joke is good or bad isnt much of an argument. The most important thing is the story and characters. Unfortunately JL did not achieve greatest because of the meddling studio.

Same here thats absolutely brilliant.

Funny enough, apparently the hardcore Snyder fans are being good sports about it and are actually considering it good publicity for the movement.

the majority are level headed and will move past it and most likely laugh. Its always the loud minority that will get triggered. i t made me chuckle

I’ve seen a few of them say that but it isn’t really. The people who watch Harley Quinn & have DCU are mostly (and I’d say the majority) DC fans so will already know about the SC. It’s not any extra publicity at all, it’s really just mocking whiny fanboys for laughs.

Reminder: Do not post videos with cursing in them, please.

Wasn't a big fan of this movie but I watch this and think Zack would've gone to town on a sequel where the League goes to Apokolips to fight Darkseid and his army.

i think everyone would agree that ZS would crush that. His visual style is very good

That’s why I think Snyder is best when adapting others work (300, Watchmen) but when creatively involved he’s problematic.

He's been vocal about how online fandom for geek properties have gotten out of control with the anger and vitriol as far back as The Last Jedi controversy. He's a real one.

yea i appreciate snyder's movies, i dare say watchmen and mos might even be some of the best superhero movies ever made.
and i really want to see the snyder cut myself.

but we all gotta admit the snyder fandom gets pretty toxic.
are they same level as star wars fandom?

they both get pretty bad.

Im surprised Mangold even heard of the Snyder Cut, he strikes me as a Nolan type—someone who doesnt really pay attention to this geek nonsense lol
