Its not that I think the movie looks bad. I just think VFX artists should be given time to make the best possible film they can.

I am very happy Zack brought in a real "alien" feel to the story. A real sense of danger and invasion. This version seems to create an atmosphere of fear that the TC did not... at least for me.

SW and DS and Desade all seem to have the same chin growths and facial features... Why does SW have the horns?

I had written 3 things that Warner Media need to do that will ensure ZSJL is a success :

- Put chapters in and release it at once. Done.
- Release it worldwide at the same day. Done.
- Marketing to show its a different film. Work in progress but I have a good feeling.

Now only if they could make sure things stop leaking all the goddamn time.

Off topic, but let me say that Paramount is a weird Studio for not green lighting another Star Trek movie, when they have got such a great cast.

They just keep throwing their money at projects that people are not interested in. I mean, look at XXX: Return of Xander Cage, Baywatch, Gemini Man, Terminator Genisys, Terminator Dark Fate.

They have got some good movies too (Bumblebee, Sonic, MI movies) but why are they dragging their feet on ST franchise ?

It was so important to get this available internationally. Snyder’s fanbase overseas is a lot bigger than domestically. Heck wasnt the Change.org petition that started all this from a guy from Brazil?

Gotta wait for the speaking moments and animation but from what I have seen, it's as good or better than anything in similar projects.

I like the ST series. Last one not quite as much as the first 2 but still enjoyed it.
Surprisingly ST films don't make as much money theatrically for some reason. Huge loyal audience. Not sure why they don't show up in theater.

there’s always gonna be some iffy shots here and there, there is in every major FX movie. The important part is the story and feeling engaged in it.

I honestly don't know what ppl are complaining about honestly. If we're talking about the characters, all the alien characters look pretty comparable to the Black Order and the outriders.

Yeah, they keep polishing the effects till the film is declared to be the final print.

Which is usually 3/4 weeks before the theatrical release, dunno what's the practice for streaming movies though, I assume it's the same.

I'd imagine the timeframe can be even smaller, since they don't have to send out a (physical) copy to various places.

I completely agree.
I've always wondered if that shot was something ready from the original production because it looked really neat. But if it's really something that Snyder's teams managed to come up with last year as a test, then there's no need to worry about CGI facial expressions.
Also, I have to say that, without being faithful, Desaad is my favorite of these New Gods redesigns.

Darkseid is mine, but so far the trailers SFX look serviceable for a blockbuster. The theatrical JL was one of the worst looking big time blockbusters I have ever seen, so even just fine is a major upgrade.

It's impressive to me just how much Snyder and company have accomplished with such a limited window of time, especially the VFX for Desaad which we first saw way back in August and I thought he looked pretty great even then despite the little new scenes we got in that DC Fandome trailer.

Sure, I can understand the concerns and see how some might think of it as him rushing it out when he could have easily put more time into it, but I honestly believe he just wanted to get it out soon as possbile so the fans could enjoy it and luckily it looks like we will all be able to watch it at the same time.

yes. It’s in one of the interviews around the time of the first tease. He said he wanted to include Desade but the VFX team said they had nothing done but they were able to cobble up that shot for him.
