I asked Zack a question at xverse regarding what other Marvel projects he was working on or was hoping to get. He said he's working on one and it would surprise people. I then followed up and asked him if it was one of the 10 Marvel Studio films that would be distributed by Paramount.

He said YES! Here it is:

Q. You said I may be surprised at a future Marvel project you are going to be involved in. Is it going to be one of the 10 Marvel Studio's films to be distributed by Paramount? Or the rumored "Speedball" movie? If you can't answer I understand but maybe you could give a hint?

* Well, I can't say yet (althought it's not "speedball," I don't even know what that it is.) But yes, it would be part of the 10 Marvel Studio films.

Which one is it? Which would would surprise you the most with him being involved? I'm assuming Ant-Man, Shang Chi, or Black Panther. Those being the most obscure and also the projects I'm interested in the most of the bunch. Unless it's Dr. Strange. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Captain America
The Avengers
Nick Fury
Black Panther
Ant-Man
Cloak & Dagger
Dr. Strange
Hawkeye
Power Pack,
and Shang-Chi.

Each film is expected to have a budget of up to $165 million dollars and a rating no more restrictive than PG-13. Although the financing allows for the production of animated films, Marvel currently intends to use the financing to make only live-action films.

Here's hoping for Cloak & Dagger!

Well they're all getting made. I don't know too much about Cloak & Dagger but I'm looking forward to all of these films. Hawkeye interests me the least right now.

My guess would be Nick Fury, only because it's on record as being one of the first ones to be made by Marvel's new studio and I don't see them letting Zack do Captain America.

I agree...kinda. :O

Hawkeye is probably the one character from the ten that would be best if they DIDN'T do as an origin movie because his backstory isn't all that interesting.

Speedball???wtf

See the "Speedball" thread here in the general movies forums for Marvel. It's probably several pages down.

I've suggested him to direct Black Panther. Boy would that be the $hit if it came to be.

It would be the second time I suggested a director for a project I had no clue they were at all interested in and had it come to pass. Bryan Singer directing "Mayor of Castro Street" being the first.

If it is Black Panther my pick of Mekhi Phifer is far more in the cards for T'Challa.

The fact that Marvel has the rights doesn't make them one of the 10 from the Paramount deal.

Namor, Black Widow, and Iron Man were also listed, and it was noted that the three were in the Marvel Film-Backed Credit Facility, that is, films that will be produced by Marvel and distributed by Paramount under its agreement. Other projects in the facility include: Ant-Man, The Avengers, Black Panther, Captain America, Cloak & Dagger, Doctor Strange, Hawkeye, Nick Fury, Power Pack and Shang-Chi. Of note among the properties is Marvel’s inclusion of Iron Man among the properties is plans to develop, as it was recently reported that the company had regained the film rights to the character. Whether the inclusion is an official notice that Marvel plans to produce an Iron Man film itself, or it merely wanted to list the project among its upcoming films is unknown.
Hulk2 will be instead prodcuced by Marvel and distributed by Universal.

Exactly. It was a specific question if it was one of the 10. Namor, Hulk 2, Iron Man, or any other film for that matter is not part of "The 10", and Hulk 2 rights have NOT reverted to Marvel...at least not fully. No way Universal is just letting go without making a deal. Otherwise Marvel would have annouced it already. As of now the deal is not finalized or they would annouce it. I've already spoken to Marvel IR about it and they said once a deal is finalized it'll be for all to see. Consider Avi's comments as pending truth but more for damage control after the BS DTV rumors came out. When it's done Marvel will essentially have the rights back but will have to pay something maybe a higher distribution fee than usual. With Iron Man they got them back with no strings attached.

I say Cap America should be the highest priority right now.

The highest priority is the project that's closest to being approved with an acceptable script and talent. Cap is a very very very difficult project for the mass market. You can't just have some dude dressed as an American Flag running around with a big shield and having milions of kids screaming to see it. We're in a different era now and they have to adapt the character to today's time or do a split movie as a period piece and then move it to today's time. It's not gonna be easy.

^ What's your point? He did fine with the other ones.

My point is if X3 turns out to be crap, i wont look forward to his future projects.

I've always said that Cap should be a WWII movie. Too many characters in this time, Cap would be great as a period flick. Then maybe the sequel can take place in the present.

^^^ The only problem is the classic cap story would be corny to the mass market. Comic fans would eat it up but it needs to be suitable for the mass market when you make a 100 million dollar plus film. Avi already said it was a "man out of time" story so we know it won't be a pure period piece.

^ and here's hoping they wise up to the fact that that idea of a "man out of time" has been done and is the completely illogical way to go.

That is why you set the first movie in WWII, you have Cap "sacrafice" himself, and in the sequel, you have him found in the present. That is what I would do.
