Zemeckis “The Witches” Adaptation (Hathaway)

Octavia Spencer is great, but they kind of set me up for disappointment by throwing Viola Davis's name out there first.

Good news. The leads being black probably has something to do with that.

Octavia saw Barris' involvement and probably went "I get to work with the creator of black-ish AND Robert Zemeckis? Sign me up."

Robert Zemeicks’ ‘The Witches’ Remake Adds ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ Art Director and ‘Tomb Raider’ Production Designer – ‘Aquaman’ Cinematographer Confirmed

In February, we first revealed that Aquaman cinematographer Don Burgess was expected to shoot Robert Zemeckis’ remake of the 1990 film The Witches, which is based on the Roald Dahl novel of the same name. We can now confirm that Burgess will work on the film and we have a couple of other addition to the film’s production team to share as well.

HN Entertainment has learned that they’ve added Tomb Raider production designer Gary Freeman and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker art director Claire Fleming (Terminator: Dark Fate, Tomb Raider, Star Wars: The Force Awakens).

Really looking forward to this. I loved the book and the 1990 movie with Anjelica Huston.

Great cast.

The original adaptation scared the HECK out of me when I was a kid. Anjelica Huston's make-up was just... gruesome.

Jesus, what are they doing, hiring crew members straight out of San Quentin?

That is gonna be one weird script lol.

Not very uncommon, though.And

Zemeckis and Kenya Barris worked together as a team on the script.

I'm really excited for this movie. The Witches has always been one of my favorites of Dahl's.

Looking forward to it, as well. And Robert Zemeckis' sense of humor fits well with the material.

The 1980s movie probably scarred me for life. I wonder what look they're going for with the witches.

Sounds interesting. I wonder if they’re planing like a Dahl shared universe haha

Robert Zemeckis’ feature adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Witches is unset in 2021 for the time being, no longer going on Oct. 9. Witches leaves behind 20th Century Studios’ Kenneth Branagh movie Death on the Nile and Paramount’s expansion of Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7.

I hope they pick a date soon as I'm really looking forward to this and adore the book.

This sounds like a camp classic and I am here for it
