Also, newcomers Jahzir Bruno and Codie-Lei Eastick are negotiations to come aboard the cast.

Should Bruno join, he would play the grandson of Spencer’s character. And if Eastick agrees, he would portray the other boy who runs into the titular Witches.

Robert Zemeicks’ ‘The Witches’ Remake Adds ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ Art Director and ‘Tomb Raider’ Production Designer – ‘Aquaman’ Cinematographer Confirmed

In February, we first revealed that Aquaman cinematographer Don Burgess was expected to shoot Robert Zemeckis’ remake of the 1990 film The Witches, which is based on the Roald Dahl novel of the same name. We can now confirm that Burgess will work on the film and we have a couple of other addition to the film’s production team to share as well.

HN Entertainment has learned that they’ve added Tomb Raider production designer Gary Freeman and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker art director Claire Fleming (Terminator: Dark Fate, Tomb Raider, Star Wars: The Force Awakens).

With principal photography now underway, director Robert Zemeckis’ Roald Dahl adaptation The Witches has made two new additions to its cast in Stanley Tucci (The Lovely Bones) and Chris Rock (Grown Ups), joining the previously announced Anne Hathaway (Les Miserables), Octavia Spencer (The Help).

The original adaptation scared the HECK out of me when I was a kid. Anjelica Huston's make-up was just... gruesome.

I'm really excited for this movie. The Witches has always been one of my favorites of Dahl's.

The 1980s movie probably scarred me for life. I wonder what look they're going for with the witches.

Robert Zemeckis’ feature adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Witches is unset in 2021 for the time being, no longer going on Oct. 9. Witches leaves behind 20th Century Studios’ Kenneth Branagh movie Death on the Nile and Paramount’s expansion of Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7.

I hope they pick a date soon as I'm really looking forward to this and adore the book.

Anne Hathaway Movie ‘Roald Dahl’s The Witches’ Skips Theaters For HBO Max – Deadline

Originally set for an October theatrical release, the Robert Zemeckis-directed Warner Bros. feature Roald Dahl’s The Witches is heading to the studio’s streaming service HBO Max on Oct. 22.
