This literally sounds like the 15 minutes of fluff they'd add to a remake of Grease. It feels almost parody like this is going to be a whole feature

If they made this into a Netflix series, only in the last 15 minutes of episode 13 would we vaguely begin to see the Sandy and Danny we all know. They'd probably spend the whole season apart and only meet in the last episode.

Lol, to be honest, I've always considered Grease to be fundamentally the dumbest popular musical ever staged, so I can't get worked up over a bad sequel or prequel. It's like if they made another bad Fast and Furious movie, like who cares, really.

I think they’re hoping the audience is Grease fans which has always been popular. Kids today still watch it. Now do they care about a prequel? Who knows. That Grease Live they did a few years back apparently had huge ratings, so if they’re selling the name and a few songs from the original, they may get the young and the curious.

Grease is still quite popular with young Millennials and Gen Zers, especially the ones who think Friends is a really good show and who find the ethnics in Hamilton too intimidating.
