There have been some crazy moves this offseason. CC here with a recap, thanks to wnba.com for the assist
PHOENIX MERCURY
IN: Alyssa Thomas, Satou Sabally, Sami Whitcomb, Kalani Brown, Sevgi Uzun
OUT: Brittney Griner (ATL), Natasha Cloud (CON), Sophie Cunningham (IND)
CC says: Phoenix just got a little bigger, faster and a lot stronger with Thomas and Satou. Both are solid and strong and deceptively fast and play both sides of the court very well.
They lost Bonner and Taurasi is up in the air, but they still have gold medalist Copper. Those three can keep the ball moving all night and tire teams down. I predict at least 5 triple doubles from Thomas next season. All three love to crash, so they have Whitcomb out there to dish and pass out for a three. If Sami is locked in, watch out yall.
INDIANA FEVER
IN: Kelsey Mitchell, DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard, Sophie Cunningham
OUT: Grace Berger (MIN), Katie Lou Samuelson
CC says: Katie Lou is out, which kinda bums me as i'm an old school Uconn fan, 20 years and counting, but picking up Howard and Bonner! HUGE! Bonner and Clark are both super intense players who had a little heated moment in a game last year, but they're gonna move past that and I think Bonner helps Clark elevate her game even more. I don't know much about Sophie but what I remember hearing from last year was positive. Howard is a former DPOY, which will help Aliyah Boston a lot. Kelsey Mitchell should really help their guard game and I predict the Fever will turn the ball over at least 20% less than they did last season, if not more.
ATLANTA DREAM
IN: Brittney Griner, Brionna Jones, Shatori Walker-Kimbrough
OUT: Cheyenne Parker-Tyus (LVA)
CC says: Atlanta just got some much needed size in the paint by getting Griner, and her veteran experience is also a plus, especially after losing Tina Charles. Last year they were one of the worst teams at allowing points in the paint. Signing Jones and Griner will help them there significantly. This is one of the teams I know the least about, but I do know that Rhyne Howard can ball. she has a huge skillset and she's very young and hungry. Another season with her, Alisha Gray and Canada, they are going to be a surprise for a lot of people.
