🤛 Official UFC Thread - Part 8

By competing in the UFC and signing up to fight McGregor then he agreed to it, it's the game they are in, if he doesn't undersand it and is too senstive to handle it, then he should go back to Dagastan. Conor has done this with EVERYONE he has fought, including Mayweather who hangs with plenty of unsavory characters himself and nothing happened there, because him and Conor are pros, they understand the business they are in, and again, regardless of what Conor said that does not excuse jumping the cage to attack a trainer and also quite possibly hurt someone else out there who gets caught in the crossfire, nor does it excuse the two thugs from his camp that attacked a beaten up Conor from behind after the match, nothing excuses that kind of behaviour.

Well I am sure we'll find out my friend as Dana is likely already putting a deposit on another yacht with the money he's going to make from that rematch lol.
Hunter, How much of Conor have you seen? And what 19 century mentality means you can act like utter human trash, including assault and attacking folks in buses and at press conference, but it's okay because it is fighting? Let's stop acting like this is gladiator stuff only to suit the purposes of defending a racist, sexist, homophobic thug.

I don't need to excuse what Khabib did. You are excusing Conor's long history of being a piece of ****, while making a lot of weird comments about how Khabib needs to go back to Dagastan.

He has said homophobic and racist things in the past. Especially with Mayweather. People said it was okay because it was "fighting".

It was not heat to Khabib, which is what mattered here.
Same as in pro wrestling, the heel gets heat, that's the point, without it there'd be half the interest in these fights.

Then Khabib needs to go back to where he came from until he grows up enough to understand the business he is in.

If Conor wants to walk around like a gangster, he really should be ready to mess with actual gangsters. But hey, if Conor does it, including assault, it's just to promote a fight? I can't agree Hunter.
Theyb aren't actually gangsters, just a bunch of cheap thugs, and Conor is a showman not a gangster, he's the classic heel, everyone but Khabib seems to understand this. Also there is absolutely zero "Gangster" about two punks jumping a guy from behind after he's been in a fight, the word is coward not gangster, and even then they didn't even knck him down, real badass. Like I said, the Conor assault thing with the bus was a work.

Let's just make the lightweight championship a triple threat match with khabib, conor and ferguson

Conor seriously, think about what you are defending. Its okay to do all these things ,because he is a "heel", but it isn't okay for Khabib because... why? It's okay to a racist, to be homophobic, to be sexist, as long as you are promoting a fight? You even defending Conor attacking a bus as work, even after he got arrested and had to make a plea deal. **** man, I don't even know what to say to this at this point. This is some British Homerism to the max.

All of that stuff is to sell the fight, I've seen plenty of him, I don't even like him, I was pulling for Mayweather to beat him and I don't like Mayweather lol. Conor is a heel, it's the whole point, he's trying to sell fights and he does it better than anyone, I am not excusing him I am saying it's the business he's in and what the guy that owns that business wants him to do so that him, Conor and whoever Conor fights walk away with stacks of money at the end of the night, taking Conor McGregor's word literally are like taking a villain in a movie or in pro wrestling as real, it's phony bull**** designed to hype the fights and sell tickets, and everyone but the goon he fought tonight understands it.

There's nothing weird about my Dagastan comments, clearly he doesn't belong fighting in the UFC as he doesn't understand the nature of how it works, and therefore would be better in his homeland where apparently everyone takes everything super seriously andmakes no money in MMA.

Dude, I don't think you would find McGregor thanking you for that last part at all, he's Irish, pure through and through and I don't even like him nor am I patriotic to Britain, and you keep applying all this hyper senstive stuff to words, just words between two guys working to sell a fight, how you can equate the words with a two on one back jumping and another guy attacking a guy who isn't McGregor, I don't get either. I'd say both are pretty unsavory human beings, I just think McGregor actually gets the business he's in where as Khabib is a pure thug surrounded by more of the same.

Remember that time Conor attacked a ref post fight? He was just being a showman, at a Bellator show.

Yeah.. you're probably the only one, there is no excuse for the aftermath of that contest I don't care what was said, the fight should put a line under everything said.

Not that it matters, but those comments are allegedly true, I literally googled his managers name & this is the first thing that came up - https://www.fuqrafiles.com/knowledgebase/nypd-informant-ali-abdel-aziz/
Interesting, so rather than being a racist and whatever other terms were used, it seems like McGregor wa simply telling the truth about the kind of people Khabib surrounds himself with.

No, I've never even seen that before, so I don't excuse it, but trying to compare McGregor to Khabib's thuggery I just don't think fits, especially since 99% of your argument is over words that he said.

Khabib’s style is everything casual fans hate about MMA. I have no desire to see a sequel though I have no idea where Conor goes from here.

You won't even acknowledge he attacked a bus, because you are hiding behind him getting arrested as some sort of work. So trying to be logical with you on this one, is pretty difficult. You want to say Khabib threatened his crew but then Conor's response was a work. So it is only real when Khabib does it.

I give up, it's 7:30am and I've been sick as a dog all week and should be in bed now. I love ya dude but we are never going to agree on this. McGregor is a heel working phony bull**** angles to sell real fights, why do you think none of Mayweather or his crew popped off with the things they said? The other guy is a total thug, sourrounded by thugs and apparently a terrorist, if you think the scumbaggery of these two are comparable or that Conors words excuse the actions of Khabib and his thugs post-match? Fair enough. I'll say both are unpleasent human beings that I wouldn't want to be around, I just think Conor is the lesser of two evils as his **** his phony heat magnet verbaiage, the other guy and his gang are animalistic and don't understand the UFC.

Yes, because as we saw tonight Khbib clearly doesn't understand what all the other fighters do, it's showbusiness,.

Conor refuses to press charges. Gives more credence to the claim that he's shtick is just for hyping up fights.

The UFC promoted and glorified this kind of behavior (with Conor throwing a dolly through the bus). Conor got away with doing these types of antics time and time again.

And goes around comes around.

You should go on Deadspin and twitter.

We definitely follow different people, nobody in my timeline is defending the post-fight stupidity from Khabib.

Of course, that would get in the way of fastracking the rematch, McGregor is about making money, Khabib thinks he's living out Rocky IV.

Because Mayweather is the same scum he is.

By the way, here is what the "work" did to an actual human being. The stuff that is okay, because it is, "a part of the show".

Namajunas still traumatized by McGregor attack

UFC strawweight champion Rose Namajunas is traumatized by April's bus attack in Brooklyn by Conor McGregor, according to her coach, who said she "doesn't leave her house."

Trevor Wittman, head trainer at Grudge Training Center in Colorado, said during an appearance on Ariel Helwani's MMA Show on Tuesday that Namajunas -- whom Wittman said is from an abusive background -- has been coming to the gym and "will go out and do a hike where there are no people."

Namajunas, 26, was on the bus that McGregor attacked at Barclays Center following a media day with UFC 223 fighters, and although she was not one of the two fighters injured by broken glass when a steel dolly was thrown through a window, she was visibly shaken.

"She's super-upset right now," UFC president Dana White said at the time, "and basically left and walked back to the hotel."

There was doubt over whether Namajunas would go through with her fight two nights later, but she did so and successfully defended her belt against ex-champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

Five months later, according to Wittman, there is no word on a next title defense for Namajunas, who is physically healing from a compression fracture in her neck and emotionally healing from the bus attack.

The promotional campaign for next month's fight between McGregor and bus attack target Khabib Nurmagomedov makes liberal use of footage from the Brooklyn incident. Wittman doesn't think that's right, saying it's "in poor taste" for the UFC to hype up an incident that physically injured two fighters, Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg, forcing both out of fights that weekend, and was emotionally traumatic for one of the fight promotion's champions.

All other fighters? I know you haven't watched a lot of MMA, but plenty of fighters don't see this as "show business". Ask Cormier how much show business he feels when it comes to Jones.

Khabib doesn’t deserve the payday of a rematch. No one wants to see one of the most exciting strikers ever on the ground for minutes at a time. He could sell Holloway, Ferguson or Woodley more than Khabibs boring ass.
