Did you like the footage of Jason running around with a bucket/basket on his head, growling before smashing into a door?
Yeah that kicks ass. He sholda played Vader. If only. Sigh. But I have seen kids do that a few times in my life. I never did it meself. I guess it will be a regret when I kick the bucket for not wearing one on my head during my life.

In my opinion, Spielberg hasn`t made a great movie since Saving Private Ryan....War of the Worlds was a pice of ****! Singer on the other hand has made X-men 2 and now Superman Returns.

What a ridiculous statement,i guess Minority Report,Catch me if you can and Munich didn't happen:confused: :o

Poor White Trash - Best movie ever! I mean when you have a movie where guys cut shag rugs and tape it to their lips as mustasches to evade the cops, that's talent by god. You can't make that s**t up. Well they did, but you cant.

Spielberg has his ups and downs, but his recent works, especially Munich, has impressed me and changed my mind that he was losing it. No doubt he'll probably never make a film on the level of Jaws, Close Encounters, or Raiders, but he's still in the fight and I look forward to his next stuff.

Apparently they didn't.

He said he doesn't want to do those type of films again. He said he has done them to death and he wants to make films that you don't automatcially think are his now. He wants to do dark and serious. That is why he has chosen the films that he has done in the last couple of years.

I love how they kept the sound from Superman the Movie, when Superman can hear things.

Yes, and fear leads to anger, and anger leads to hate and hate leads to DVD sales and on and on ;)

Seriously though, "Slaughter" is way pushing it, especially for what it is we've seen. Again, I asked earlier--why didn't any of this come up before. We knew how that scene started. We knew how it ended. We knew that they almost kissed. This is stuff that showed up online about 6 months ago at the LATEST.

How did we think it was going to get to that point? Why NOW is this such a sticking point for the character and the story? We've even had a novel thread that details their conversation and even then it wasn't a cause of worry and felt like Superman--now it's something as simplistic and stereotypical as "homewrecking?" What's the alternative from going point a to point b on this WITHOUT getting what we have?

The argument seems to suffer from a sort of sly reductionist angle, yunno? Reduce what you see to a simple one sentence stereotype, and then hammer on the stereotype as opposed to what we saw (Which, to be fair, was a scene out of context without the benefit of a lead-in or exit from the sequence)

I still dont' see SEDUCTION. He knows what's up. He just met everybody at the office, he knows what's happened, he's read her article, and again, he's just SAD. Confused. Lost, on shaky footing. Trying to reconcile SOME of that with the person most important in his life isn't seduction, I don't think. He's trying to get some sense of closure--even if he doesn't know it yet.

That characterization seems to fit better than Hunter's "Dude with a porsche" comparison.

And I sorta feel I gotta tack this on, but Hunter and I have gone round before, but I hope he knows I'm not attacking him or crapping on his opinion. I think he's looking at it wrong, but I'm not gonna give him hell for it :)

What he said:up::):)

One thing to chat on the roof but the other part is like asking an ex to take a moonlight stroll hand in hand IMO and doesn;t it lead to a nearly kiss ?

Actually, what happens after this Hunter is
he takes her above the clouds to the edge of the atmosphere and asks: "What do you hear?" "Nothing." She replies. "Do you know what I hear Lois? Everything. You say the world doesn't need a savior, but everyday I hear people cry out for one."
He's just trying to show here that she was wrong.

It's more that he can't really DO those types of films anymore. He's married, has kids, has grown up from that child-man he once was, and has moved on. He's evolved -- grown as a filmmaker. Heck, I'd wager he'd be the first to admit he couldn't do it anymore.

And where did you read that he only wants to do "dark and serious"? I seriously doubt Spielberg would limit himself to one particular mood.

Interesting, thank you, that puts a different light on the scene which plays badly in that clip IMO,is that from the book or have you seen the film ?

That's from the book, I'm currently reading it and I don't think anybody has anything to worry about.

The clips are just soooo good! The acting is absolutely superb! Routh is just amazing... In places he's the spitting image of Reeve... Even the way he looks at something, or turns his head! And than he's ENTIRELY his own in other places, it's so great! Routh is very very gifted!!!

PS: I'll bet that out of those 11 clips we've reseved, many of them will be featured in talkshows and such... Like Letterman and Conan.. wich is fine by me. They really have a surden stradegy for this movie's marketing.. everytime you've seen something new in tv-spots and such, it only takes a day or two before that same footage is shown on some talkshow or whatever... It's great! It feels as if they're spreading too much out form the movie now, while in fact they show practickly the same, or maybe extended scenes of what we've allready seen. The movie will blow everything else out of the water!

Even though he will be doing Indy IV.

But even those 11 clips were edited together people! For example, if the scene where Clark runs off to save the plane is JUST like seen in one of the 11 clips, than it would be waaaaay to fast happening... So I'm telling you, even in these clips, they've let a lot of stuff (from that specific scene) out!
