How do your political views compare to those of your family?

1. Thats hard to say. I'm closer to my father since my mother died but I cant say we are close. My brother and I live in the same house but rarely speak. Its not that we hate each other or anything but we have very little common ground. My brother comes home from work late at night and we give each other a silent salute before we go to bed. Thats about it.
2. My brother is my only sibling. He is three years younger than I am.
3. People see my as the liberal one, but I'm positively conservative compared to my brother. He is indifferent to abortion, I think it needs to be made as rare as possible. I respect the Church, he couldnt care less if they all closed. He just keeps quiet about his opinions and I will fight any one at any time. Its hard to tell with Dad. He agrees with whoever is speaking. I dont think he wants to argue. Mom was pretty liberal.

My extended family varies. My conservative relatives get sick when I start talking and my liberal relatives usually enjoy my opinions.

When I started college I was a double major in Secondary education and broad field social science. Its a fancy way of saying I wanted to be a high school history teacher. I took education classes and did a clinical in a junior high school. Hated it. Hated it. So I dropped it damn quick and changed to plain history. Being an archivist in a museum or for the feds would be cool. I am hoping to get a masters in Library and Information Science, which would allow me to do those things. But there are so few school in Illinois that teach LIS. One is too far, one is too expensive and another has a bad reputation. I may have to look into something else. A co-worker has mentioned that she hopes to get a job selling life insurance and thinks I would be good at it. Its not the prestige that I've always wanted, but in this economy, reality sets in. You dont always get what you want. Besides, you can make good money in insurance.

I was thinking before about how people call us a "Lost Generation." I see what they mean, but its not accurate. I would call us a "Delayed Generation." We need to put things on hold for a while until things improve, but we will rebound. We're a tougher crowd than we look.

What is the first thing you notice about someone when you meet them in person for the first time?

I'm fascinated by peoples faces. Its amazing how we all have two eyes, ears, one nose, etc but we all look different. Plus a face can tell you more about what a person is doing or thinking more than anything.

Now, if we are talking romantically, I'm a boob man.

I did see it. I dont mean to sound like a horn dog but I thought the best part of the movie was the green girl. I left the theater feeling "meh."

Storm vs Wonder Woman is a tough one. I keep thinking that Storm can just blow Diana away with a hurricane and than blast her with lightning as she is caught in a gust. On the other hand, Wonder Woman (correct me if I'm wrong) is pretty much invulnerable and is trained as a warrior. I think that combo would eventually take down Storm. I dont know much about Storm but I would think that conjuring a major storm would exhaust her.

Have you ever gone bowling? If so, what is your highest score?

Yes, bowling is my sport of choice, since it requires much less athletic ability than many others. I'm not a great bowler. It seems my highest score was in the 120's.

Most likely White Zombie/ Rob Zombie. I like his low growling voice, the drums, the theatricality, the whole shebang.

Out of all of the US presidents, who is your favorite and why?

Theodore Roosevelt, hands down. Yes, interfering with the Panama/Columbia civil war was a questionable thing to do ethically, but the building of the Panama Canal was an incredible achievement. I like his standing up to corporate greed, his conservation programs and his strong foreign policy. He could never be elected today but I really wish we had a TR.

Who do you consider the 'Top 5' US presidents to be?

In no particular order:
1. Washington. He set the standard and thank God he did. He hated politics, wanted nothing to do with it. Why cant more politicians hate their job?
2. John Adams. His defeat was brilliant. He set the tone for graceful politics in America as much as Washington did. He could have started a revolt to keep power, but bowed to the will of the people.
3. Theodore Roosevelt, as I said.
4. Harry Truman. I feel he is very under rated. Closing World War Two, seeing the start of the Cold War, the Berlin Airlift. He is still under FDR's shadow but he had such a full plate when he took office. The Korean War aside, he handled things very well.
5. George H.W. Bush. I have a new respect for Bush the First. He had the wisdom to not go all the way to Baghdad after the Gulf War and not to rub it in the Russians face as the Cold War ended. Yes, he was lousy with domestic policy. He under estimated the recession. But he did handle the daunting foreign affairs well.

No, afraid not. I have some old photo's of my great grandfather as a young man. Its done in a yellowish type of color. Its pretty cool.

Where were you on September 11, 2001?

I had just transferred to Illinois State University and had over slept, making me late for my history of Japanese Society class. As I rushed down the hall to class, I glanced in another dorm room and saw the Twin Towers on fire. I asked the guys watching what was happening and they said that two planes had hit the towers, as well as the Pentagon. I immediately went to the Student Center, where I knew a lot of other people would be watching. I watched the second tower fall. The room was absolutely full of people and it was dead silent. I wanted to stay and watch but I had a paper to turn in to my English class. I broke the news of the Towers falling to the class.

I havent watched basketball since Jordan left the Bulls.
