I don't really see the news story here. Obviously this is just a case of a 14 year old boy inventing the ultimate clever excuse for his parents to leave him home alone with his girlfriend. I mean come-freaking-on, how dumb do his parents have to be to think their 14 year old son needs a babysitter, let alone one who is almost the same age as him?

Although I am usually the first one to speak up when an adult teacher takes advantage of a young student, the age gap here is only 5 years which is pretty much negligible.

If it was a 14 year old girl with a 19 year old guy I don't really think it would be that big of a deal. From a parents' perspective it's always a big deal, though. They are pretty close in age so it does not seem very problematic to me other than that one is a minor and the other isn't-- it's basically like a freshman dating a senior.
