Sequels $196 Million Worldwide, But Still No X4 Plans?

Wolverine and Magneto spin-offs instead of X-Men 4?

Well, I'm looking forward to both of them, anyway.

Yeah, right. We'll see about that Avi. You don't have those two endings in X3 and NOT say that there will definitely be an X4.

Thank goodness. X3 did enough damage. Hopefully in 10-15 years we'll get a new movie version, done right.

Arad is not the Fox.
I am sure they will make an X4 which is more important than spin off because X-men 3 is a winner !

It would be interesting, If they could do another X-Men trilogy, X4 X5 and X6? Maybe about Apocalypse?

Besides, take a closer look at what he says:

"The first reaction, which we should discard, is here comes 'X-Men 4,'" said Marvel Studios topper Avi Arad. "We're working on 'Wolverine,' which is definitely a continuation, and we have a very interesting script about a young Magneto."

He never says there won't be an X4, it means that they're focusing on the spin offs first.

More I think about it if they do make another trilogy leave Apocalypse out and just keep sinister and sentinals.

Bad title. He didn't say no to X4. He basically said an X4 right now isn't being planned because the Wolverine and Magneto movies are being focused on. We will see another sequel...Fox can't walk away from a box office monster they love money.

a 2nd trilogy would work if its based on a major story from the comics, a story that would take 3 movies to tell.

Make Arad regret not doing an X-4, don't support the spin-off movies & then they can tank like Elektra did.

It would have to come out in 2008. Spiderman/F4 are coming out next year so X-men would have to come out in 2008 because Spiderman 4/F4 #3 would come out in 2009.

As much as i hate to say it. Wolverine has been done to death. The first two films was already about him. Magneto could be interesting though.

Apart from the possible villains in the Wolverine spin-off, I'm not really interested in it. But I am VERY interested in the Magneto spin-off. Should be interesting to see.

As much as I agree with the overdoing of Wolverine he still has an interesting past to explore that would be an amazing film.

I think Avi is stalling, and i think he (and Marvel) wants the X-Rights back.

They didn't make the big deal with Merril Lynch without considering this.

Daredevil, Elektra, Fantastic Four, X3....think about it.

Marvel has their own studio now...and FOX has...been FOX. Take a big name and make it into a summer craptacular special....

Quesada ran his "Joe Fridays" column last week with NO mention of X3 whatsoever....

I think Marvel is unhappy with the FOX treatment, and I'm willing to bet that will become public knowledge very soon.

I sure hope so. The Fox treatment is garbage.

Wolverine will be X4 in all but name. These films are Wolverine movies anyway. Marvel and Fox are just wisely cutting costs by taking out all the extra mutants.

Avi Arad is so dumb, people are sick of seeing Wolverine and Magneto,we have had enough of them.People want to see the other characters of the X-Men.

Winter: This is the last movie of this type. There might be spinoffs, but it would be hard to gather this cast or a bigger one for another movie of this size.

I don't think so Raven.

Marvel's CEO (Avi) made it quite clear from the outset that the Dark Phoenix saga did not have enough depth to warrant a film focused 100% on its plot. So the liberties that FOX took with X3 (as well as F4 and other films) appear to have been sanctioned by Marvel, since Kevin Fiege--Marvel's liason to the studio--has been involved in all of the projects.

Remember, FOX didn't exactly greenlight X3 right after X2's release either. X4 will come...right after Wolverine. LOL ;)

Without Arad we probably wouldn't have all of these Marvel films. You should show a little more respect.

Mark my words...we'll get a Wolverine/Jackman movie....possibly even a Magneto/Xavier flick.

And while those are coming to pass, the "X" rights will revert back to Marvel...long before "X4" comes to pass.

Bottom line...I think Marvel is feeling unhappy/screwed and wants it's characters back, especially since they're being butchered for the sake of a quick summer buck under the FOX banner.

"Dark Phoenix Saga"... "Not Enough Depth"?

What? That doesn't even begin to make sense. It just doesn't.
