Contrary to rumours that Brett Ratner (“X-Men : The Last Stand”) had snagged the job, IESB reports that someone else has actually been offered the task of helming the comic spin-off, “Wolverine”.
Its good news, too.
D.J Caruso, director of the smash hit “Disturbia”, has been asked to help tell the origin of the hairy beast.
The only thing that may prevent the deal with Caruso going ahead is that Dreamworks – who produced “Disturbia” – are courting the filmmaker for another movie.
The back-up plan? Hire Len Wiseman (“Live Free or Die Hard”) to do “Wolverine”.
Either choice is fine…. Because it’s not Brett Ratner.

I'd like either choice and c'mon Clint don't be a Ratner hater cause he did great with Red Dragon. it's not like Wolverine is a rush job either. It's taking time.

Thanks for the heads up.

For those who are interested, here are some of Caruso and Wiseman's other recent works.

Caruso: Taking Lives and Two for the Money

Wiseman: Underworld and Underwold: Evolution

Wiseman! :wow:

That would be cool. (But then Underworld 3 would be pushed back again...)

Both sound ok

wow.
both are craptastical options.
i almost think doing Ratner would be better than either of those crummy options. geez, who's driving this bus? krusty the klown !

you'd think what could be Marvels best hope of launching a pop franchise would be handled with some care and quality control but no, it won't.

this movie will be teh suck.

Caruso would be great...Disturbia was a awesome movie!

I could see him doing a great job directing wolverine

I'd be fine with either although Wiseman has more action experience......Just glad it isn't the Rat

Both leave much to be desired, but at least it won't be Ratner.

please...no...ratner...x3...sucked...ass

how about paul w.s. anderson? hes amazing!

just kiddding hes also horrible.

If DJ get's it I'll be happy. I was truly hoping John McTiernan would snag it and get back to making awesome films. 3 of his films are my favorites of all time: Hunt for Red October, Die Hard, & Predator.

I would have loved to see the world of Wolverine brought to life by someone like Alfonso Cuaron, Jean-Pierre Jeunet or Yimou Zhang.

So is it confirmed that Ratner isn't doing Wolverine? Somebody, please... I need confirmation. :csad:

Cool.

Out of the two, I favor D.J Caruso as director. Although I did like Wiseman's Underworld films, I think Caruso's style would be a interesting aspect for a Wolverine spinoff movie.

The question is: How can Len Wiseman be the second option?

:continues to run around in circles screaming cheerfully:

I'd be happy with either choice...
