Ya could be as simple as that, plus we been told by snyder he wants a clean new start. Sure would be nice for tom to be in the film. But then we get into the same issues with routh fans and folks who don't like sv and all that. Its far better to not get into a mess like this and be a clean new begining.

web you sure your a fan of tom? because if you were you would be pulling for him. superman needs continuity, not another reboot. and YES snyder & nolan know darn well about the tom fans and the online polls. he could of come out long ago and dismissed tom but he didn't!

Yes I am a fan of tom and I would want him to be in the film. But since this is wb last chance pretty much for the film. They need to have a clean break away from donner/singer and ultimately sv so this film can stand on its own two feet and not be forced into being something it is not and all that.

Bad choice, he looks like a used car salesman. Doubt he can even act going from his slim credits and his bio.

His IMDB bio is so awful and so aggrandizing, but it makes sense since his wife wrote it.

Mini Biography

This south Florida Native started out as a Natural Bodybuilder and had success in the Fitness Magazines and Sport Supplements Industry. You're probably right.

It's like the rumor that had spread about Wentworth Miller being in contention to replace Andy Whitfield as Spartacus.

What an awful choice that would have been been, it was only reported in a few places and of course he commented in the press whether he was interested.

It looked like a plant from the get go. Not only is completely wrong for the part in so many ways, but he's also too old and from recent photos too much out of shape.

This very well might also be a planted piece, probably by his wife who thinks he would be good for the part. His IMDB profile does not say how tall he is, but going from the proportions in that head shot, I'm not sure he's very tall.

His look isn't right and I wouldn't want him in the part, even aside from that fact that fake smile makes him look like a complete idiot.

I saw those pics over SHP... I don't know. Maybe that's legit, maybe not, but if it's not is putting himself out there like this is going to get him into WB's, Nolan's and Snyder's good graces. But will it really? Lying about being tested?

Going so far as faking extravagantly staged photos to further that lie?

I don't think that's a very good game plan.

Yeah, it will let everyone know he's committed, but it will also let everyone know what a fool he is.

The photos could be legit, but I don't think they are.

Would everyone be gladly looking into the camera so someone could 'secretly take' photos with their iPhone? And even giving a thumbs up?

Doubt it.

Would all those people look happy to be in photos of a screen test they had probably signed long and exhaustive non-disclosure agreements about?

I don't know, but taking images of said screen test (or allowing those photos to be taken) would probably violate any NDA those folks would have signed.

So, no. I don't buy it.

Even if all that other stuff could be taken on face value, the guy has the cheesiest looking superman costume on that I have ever seen. Guys at Dragon*Con had better suits.

Looks like something the guy spent $50 on online at Warner Brothers Superman costume store.

Funny enough that was the same b.s. excuse (clean slate not to get into a mess with fans who don't like SV) they gave the last time around and boy did it work out great for that movie !

And while I'm at, I'm tired of the folks who think a JL movie shouldn't be made because of Nolan's Batman "realistic take" or that they should only be in a cgi movie. Make the gd JL movie and get it over with. WB you wouldn't be considered as copying off of Marvel, you're making movies with your characters.

ya trip its still probably bs, or maybe this ward guy was trying to make a fan film and wanted to drum up some hits for him. I really hope we get the official name who is the new clark/superman for reboot soon. Really would like if it happens before end of the month. But if the potential production time table dates are true and filming isnt happening to aug. Then between feb/march is likely when they will sign x person. Since that would still give said guy a few months time to bulk up, costume fittings, and all the other training/pre production stuff needed to get done.

Eh. I am very glad that there's no longer a ban on mentioning Welling (or the other two names) there, but I do prefer this thread. I suppose at some point, hopefully not too long from now, this thread will be either validated or invalidated.

Hmm...

It's been a long time since I'd been over there since my self-exile to solely the Smallville forum. (With occassional forays into General TV, had to support Andy Whitfield and Spartacus, not sure how I'll feel about the show now he's had to leave it... -- just hope he gets better.)

Anyway, I'm not sure I have time. I just got a promotion at work, not much more money but a ton more responsibility and so far next to no free time to surf inbetween calls/cases.



I'll take a look and see how I feel about it after reading a few things, it might bring the fight out of me or might make me shake my head sadly and never go back...

I do really hope we get a dam offical shortlist of real names testing for the role. So we can finally see where nolan/snyder/wb is going for this time. Like when we had short lists for cap/spidey/gl in the past yr. I am sure we will get a better casting rthen the crap(no offense to sr fans) cast singer made.
