Here We Go Again Part 3: New Welling As Superman Rumors?

I like Hammer as an actor, I think he could do it.

I think Hammer is too young.

I haven't seen the Social Network but I understand he did a good job in that, so maybe he's a good enough actor that it would still work. He is freaking tall and has beautiful baby blues (even if his hair isn't black)...

*shrug*

Well, Fixxer, it's more of trying to get Prison Mike to no longer want to stick a knife in my ribs. :) Or because of his name, shank me in the ribs.

That said, I don't know who will be cast, but I'm sure they'll do a good job.

I... am desperately hopeful that Hammer doesn't get the role. I know it's too early to think anything of anything, but, as I've said before, I couldn't see anything in this guy that I found remotely Superman-esque. There's a lot more to being Superman than being tall and blue-eyed.

Hmm... curiously resisting going to bed for some reason, I decided to do a video search on Armie.

What I found pretty much makes me agree with you now. He's good looking and tall and has a nice speaking voice, but he seems sort of bland and what I found also makes me very happy that JL film never got made.

Not sure what kind of batman he would have been, aside from being a bit weirded out by Batman being far taller than the guy who was going to play Superman...

Sure hammer is only 24 I think/turning 25ish. But if the film is about a young fresh clark kent he would fit the bill there. Though that's the problem we don't know for sure what the story is/ ages characters will be. Only thing logically is casting will fall in 25-35 age ranges so u can have some one younger play older or older playing younger. Like for example green lantern I believe I read the age hal is for the film is like 27 yrs old and ryan was 33 during shooting.

So I was reading earlier la times hero complex site/twitter page was bringing up joe manigello name again. Saying he is very much likely the front runner for clark/superman for the reboot. Now for me I know some don't really like him. But he is in good age range, has good height/decent looks. Also is a solid enough actor. So if he did land the role I wouldn't be that mad at all. Really can't wait to see who nabs it in the end.

It's strange how WB's gone back to the same tensions of 'who are we gonna cast for Superman!?' from early on in the last decade.

Haha ya. Though I hope this time we get a good actor. Unlike with sr routh was a bad choice(my opinion).

I'm totally cool with Joe M. getting the part. He's the one guy out of the fan picks I'm down with, aside from T. Welling. But if they cast someone else I'll be fine with it. Only one or two people I wouldn't want to see casted that I know of.

I'm still among the few who loves watching Smallville, the Batman movies etc. and pretending they all exist in the same cinematic universe. If they do get Bridget Regan for the WW show and Welling reprises his role as Superman (both very, very unlikely at this stage), at least the kid in me for the past few years will be satisfied :D

Ya out of fan choices like joe, armie, cavill and others. All who I wouldn't mind. Joe would be a solid choice in my book. Tall, good size, would look even better with a few more pounds added on of muslce. Is a good enough actor. And I am sure with the right costume fabrics would look great in the suit.

I'm going to go against the grain here but I think Hammer would do a fine job as Superman. Sure they need to make him up a bit but he was extremely impressive in The Social Network, and is articulate and well-spoken to boot. Acting-wise he seems solid, I don't know how even the most ardent TW fan can really say he's worse an actor than Welling was when he first started. On the contrary he seems pretty well-seasoned for such a young guy.

Sure we'd all prefer TW but if Hammer were to land the job I think it'd be fine.

yeah there was another thread created just like this one, but that looks to have disappeared. Wasnt sure what warranted a new thread here when we're only at 48 pages but the Season 10 Spoilers is well over 100 and it didnt get one?

Also, Thread Manager is an awful title. I hope that's an automated program of some kind.

Ya I am getting sick of this dude closing threads. Wasn't the post limit 10,000. As for hammer I was totally against him as batman during jlm days. But he probably would be better suited for superman. I just can't wait for who ever it is, is signed/sealed/ready to go.
