I think Pete smacks her after the scene where MJ with Gwen and Eddie in the room.

Well if you pay attention the shirt she is wearing in the pic where she is on the floor is the same shirt that she is wearing in the scene in the trailer where she is with harry and peter arrives and sees them. Maybe that makes him mad and he turns into "evil peter", hits her and then throws the ring against her. And cuz of her face maybe harry tries to deffend her and begins a little battle with pete.

Other option could be that peter finds her with eddie (whos probably there talking to her about gwen and pete) and he gets a bad impression and gets angry... and then it happens the same that in the first case, of course, without the harry thing.

in both cases... i think that she is like that cuz peter hits her.

I don't think Peter actually hits MJ. I think Peter is definitely involved in this scene but I don't think he hits her. Maybe is about to and she falls or perhaps throws something towards her to scare her but for whatever reason I can't picture him actually hitting her.
