2007 - 2008 NCAA Basketball Thread

I can't wait for that game. I think Tennessee can do it.

Also, Duke is getting their asses kicked again

And I thought the Georgetown/Memphis game from a couple months ago was a big game for my town.

It will be insane in Memphis this Saturday. At least I won't be on call. :woot:

The game is at Memphis, yes.

I wish Memphis luck, David. It'll be a terrific game.

'Canes over Duke and Carolina rolls over NC State and into a tie for the ACC lead?

I'll take it.

Man, this is crazy. Coack K said it's like something came and possessed their bodies, replacing the team we've seen all season. I can tell you what that strange entity is Coach, it's called 'Complacency' dammit.

Gerald Henderson said:
"We refuse to lose after playing perfect basketball all season long. We refuse to allow whatever's been happening these past 2 games stop us from dominating the NCAA."

Gerald, you'd better make damn sure of it.

LMAO@ the kid from Virginia Tech throwing up on the court in the middle of the game last night.

LAMFAO@ the refs charging him with an in lane violation

Man I didn't even think there was a rule on the books for that.

Indiana University will hold a press conference at 2PM EST determining coach Kelvin Sampson's fate.

The AD had a meeting with the players last night, apparently telling them about the school's decision.

I guess the team basically said "If coach Sampson goes, we don't play." And I guess the AD said in reply "Do you want me to cancel the rest of the season?"

Wow.

Sampson contract was bought out, so I guess that means Indiana is cancelling the rest of the season. :o

750K and he agrees not to sue.

If the players try to pull rank, I hope the University pulls their scholarships and hands them a nice prorated tuition bill. :o

I don't know if that's allowable and I don't care.

Someone tell me in a nutshell what the heck is up with Indiana and their coach. Why all the controversy?

We broke some sanctions set forth by the NCAA after getting in trouble in Oklahoma for recruiting violations.

There was a recent NCAA report that charged Sampson with 5 major recruiting violations. This is complicated by the fact that Sampson's tenure at Indiana began with the NCAA citing him for over 500 inappropriate phone calls to recruits while he was at Oklahoma. Beyond that, an internal investigation by IU sometime last year found Sampson to have had 100 or so more inappropriate calls. The latter is what led to the current NCAA mess. Subsequently, it's time for his behind to go.

Now, you know

*wait for it*

...and knowing is half the battle.

:lmao:

Congratulations to Tom Izzo getting win #300 in MSU's 66-52 victory over Iowa.

I love you, coach.

Oh, goodness. The UCLA/Oregon game just had an incredibly nasty posterization. :wow:

Go Tigers... Bruce Pearl is a poor sport.

No defense in this game... it's pretty damn good so far.

This is an insane game. Both teams are doing good. Hopefully Memphis' D shows up.

...Did anyone else see what Bruce Pearl did to Erin Andrews?

I just saw what Jalen Rose said earlier on the Big Ten Network:

Everybody goes to other schools in the Big Ten because they can't go to Michigan.

 What an idiot. I don't think he remembers that he was part of the team that led UM to the sewer, and he didn't play when there were any official UM records in basketball. :down
