WHat albums did you get this year?

    Nine Inch Nails- Year Zero
Neat concept album. Its like the soundtrack to a movie not yet released. Also a free remix is available for download of 21 songs.

Richard Ashcroft- Keys to the World
Really great album with lots of great tracks. Very nice and groovy. Yes I said "groovy" lol

    MXPX-Secret Weapon
A very solid release from this punk trio from Washington state.

Rivers Cuomo-Alone the Home Recordings Of
Nice little compilation of songs spanning the entire band history of Weezer. Some strong tracks on here.

    Danzig-The Lost Tracks of Danzig
A 2-disc compilation album with some real gems and duds. Thankfully the duds are fewer than the gems.

    Strung Out-Blackhawks Over Los Angeles
Another solid release from punk/metal outfit Strung Out

    Rammstein-Volkerball
A live CD with a DVD of the show as well. If you have never seen them live check this out!

    The Police
2 disc greatest hits album. Worth it if you have no Police albums.

New albums or albums we got in general? The only new album I bough this year was Paul McCartney's new album, which was hands down the year's best release.

I bought like 20+ albums that were released in 07, and another 20 or so that weren't. I'm not going to bother listing them here.

It's his strongest album in years, the songs are excellent, Paul sounds great and the musicianship on the album is impeccable.

Come to think of it, there were some other albums I brought this years, all of which were new releases (though not of newly recorded material):

Frank Sinatra: A Voice In Time 1939-1952
An excellent 4 cd compilation of Sinatra's early years at Columbia. A lot of rarities and previously unreleased material. Highly recommended

    Walk Hard
The soundtrack. Even if you know nothing about the movie, there's some damn good music here.

    The Police
I got the 2 disc set as well. Great compilation for beginning fans.

    Complete Clapton
A must have for all rock fans. Spanning from 1965 to the present, the best Clapton compilation available.

    Sinatra: Vegas
A remarkable 4 cd / 1 dvd compilation from 5 different concerts from Ol' Blue Eyes from 1961 to 1987. An essential purchase for any music fans.

I got the Rivers Cuomo album. I'm a big Weezer band and there were a couple good songs on it. Seemed to be a lot of filler on there. I am definatelty looking forward to the new Weezer cd thats coming out this year.

    Memory Almost Full- Paul Mccartney
Robbers & Cowards- Cold War Kids
    Costello Music- The Fratellis
    Under the Iron Sea- Keane

I think that's all the new stuff. I bought some other cds, but not 07 releases.

    In no perticular order

    1.Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
Good Album, saw them live as well and they where awesome.

    2.Arctic Monkeys- Favourite Worst Nightmare
A love it or hate it band for many. They make decent tunes.

    3.Art Brut-It's a Bit Complicated
Hilarious lyrics from frontman Eddie Argos and pretty cool guitar riffs.
Sound Of Summer, Jealous Guy and Direct Hit are my favourites.

4.Black Rebel Motorcycle Club- Baby 81
Not that popular but awesome band. More Raw than Howl which I wasn't a big fan of. Their folky stuff isn't really my thing.

5.Kings Of Leon- Because Of The Times
One of the best albums of 2007 for me. These dudes put out consistantly good albums. Probabley my favourite American band at the moment to.

    6.Patrick Wolf-The Magic Position
Probabley the only person in modern music I can say sounds like no one else. It took me awhile to get used to his sound. Classical, electro, folk and pop music isn't something that goes together easily but amazing none the less.

    7.The Maccabees- Colour It In
Great album, If Young Folks was the whistle song of 2006. Toothpaste Kisses is the whistle song of 2007.

8.The Wombats-A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation
dancey pop songs about not getting the girl that don't sound emo or whiney. Good upbeat album. School Uniforms, Moving To New York and Kill The Director FTW.

    9. The Cribs- Mans Needs, Womans Needs, Whatever
The only track I ever liked of the Jarman brothers before was Hey Scenesters. This album produced by Franz Ferdinand's Alex Kapranos is great though.

    10. Digitalism-Idealism
German Electro Dance Punk. If you like Daft Punk, Justice, Simian Mobile Disco and so on. you will probabley like these guy. Pogo is my jam.

Hounarable menitions go to Klaxons, The Horrors, Interpol, Editors, The Checks, Jamie T, Jack Penate, Kanye West, Shins, Land of Talk, Rilo Kiley and M.I.A
