2009 MLB Thread, part 2

I was wondering why no one was posting in the other thread and what I get for only checking my posted threads. :o

Edge of your seat game tonight. I haven't been sitting on a chair for at least 1/3rd of the game.

Anyways, the reason why Lee didn't start today is regardless of his talent, from what I read, he's never pitched on short day's rest and Manuel didn't want to "experiment" on a crucial Game 4.

Something about Lidge that just wants me to put a knife right through that big fat mole of his. What a disgrace. Rollins was full of **** all along. The pitching was a joke but we expected that. For these clowns to have some of the worst at bats known to man kind is pathetic. And the Championship last year was a fluke. Sorry to break it to Phils fans. They take the easiest possible road to the series and play a Rays team that were just happy to be there. I'll get over it, but it will suck all kinds of **** seeing A-Rod grabbing Jeter's you know what as they raise their 27th. I am happy that Bonds/Clemens never had won a championship after their scandals. I was hoping the one poster boys of this steroid era post-Roger Barroid would follow suit. Wasn't meant to be. Good for the Yanks. Might as well let MLB regionalize the game even more and milk the money from the Yankee revenue and the TV ratings. Sad, sad day indeed. Just had to get that rant out of the way because I ain't coming back here for a while once this is wrapped up.

Joba has talent...what makes that HR not a death blow is that it was a solo home run.
He got Werth and Ibanez look like minor leaguers.

And Feliz made him look like a minor leaguer with that moonshot. Doesn't matter that he struck out the side. He gave up a tying HR to arguably the worst hitter in the lineup.

He is terrible at the plate.

I think it is, simply because it's been quite some time since Yankees won their last WS. Winning this WS will definitely be something special for this franchise.

That's based on the assumption that anyone should feel sorry for the Yankees because they didn't win for 8 whole years. Boo-freaking-hoo.

Besides, it had been even longer since they had won when they started their run in the nineties. So three easy outs with a three run lead in a non-clinching game hardly translates to the biggest inning of his career.

Great win for the Yanks. Showed great will to win that has been missing the past few years. Great work by Damon in the ninth inning, and big hits by A-Rod and Jorge. We needed this one big time. Now it's time to close it out. Bring it on Lee.

Posada, Damon and Matsui have been getting some big hits for the Yankees when it matters most.

A lot of credit has to go to Damon for his base running. Lidge with his ball in the dirt with a man on 2nd is a lot different than a man on 3rd.

Interesting call tomorrow...do the yanks go with Posada or Molina with AJ on the mound?

I wonder if Hamels is consoling Lidge right now. Actually, I bet the whole team is patting eachother on the back and saying "you did your best, man." because that's the kind of team the Phillies are. The main reason I like them, the player's personalities.

Every team I've wanted to win each series is going to lose. Rockies lost, Cardinals lost, Dodgers lost, Twins lost, Angels lost. Phillies are on the brink of losing. Only team that won that I wanted to was the Angels in the DS.

All that on top of a gut-wrenching NLCS lost in 06, collapse in 07, smaller choke job in 08, and a 92 loss season this year. I'm waiting for you, karma.

Actually I didnt see anyone go up to Lidge there...Also I think Manuel called Lidge out during his press conference.

I did see Jorge talk with Joba and pat him after his blunder

Maybe the Mets can go after Holliday.

Yeah that sucker hurt. It'll come though, one day it'll come.

that second collapse was worse..because no one thought it would happen again.

But the Mets have alot of money they got from the Madoff investment. They have to go after a starter and Holliday. Also really need to replace Murphy...hes not a 1st baseman worth having

I'm wondering if the Mets get to keep that money. I mean sure they got back the money they invested but do they actually get to keep the excess?
