2009 MLB Thread, part 2

Rain is supposed to stop somewhere around 6....hope that will give the ground crew enough time to prep the field

Well, New York fails if they can't keep their weather in check. I don't want any more rainouts dammit. Same goes for you Philadelphia. ****** east coast cities with your rain and snow and weather and nice things:cmad:

Damn your west coast cities with your earthquakes, smog, and deserts.

Except for you Kingfish. Everyone else in LA can go to hell for all I care when the quakes hit.

I prefer the Stephen Colbert approach to race, I don't see it, just American.

By that account Spidey-Bat is a dirty Russian commie:cmad:

I love his bits about that "I don't see race, but they allow me into the country club"

A Laker fan and a Yankee fan? Jeez, why don't you just root for the Steelers already :o

Well, I've explained this many times in the past, but I'll do it again. I had moved to Brooklyn back in '87, and I became a fan of the Yankees in '88 (back when Mattingly was playing). The team wasn't that good then, but in New York they are crazy about their baseball teams, so I got swept up by their fanaticism. I moved back to Los Angeles later, and became a fan of Lakers. That's why I like some of the teams in L.A. and some in N.Y. After Raiders moved back to Oakland, as a form of protest I started to root fo the Jets, even though recently I started to root for Raiders again.

Not sure why I have to explain why I like certain teams, though.

"Then the First Lady and Dr. Biden will escort Yankees legend and World War II veteran Yogi Berra and Tony Odierno, who will be throwing out the first pitch. Odierno, a West Point graduate who lost his left arm during the war in Iraq, received the Bronze Star with Valor and a Purple Heart and now works for the Yankees in Stadium Operations. Odierno's father is Gen. Raymond T. Odierno, the current Commanding General of the Multi-National Force in Iraq. The elder Odierno is credited with implementing the counterinsurgency strategy that led to the decrease in violence during his tenure as the Commanding Officer of the Multi-National Corps in Iraq."

I was just teasing you. At least you suffer in one sport

Hey hey now. Regardless of what the owner of my team chooses to call them, I do not actually live in LA. I feel that is an important distinction to make.
