2009 MLB Thread, part 2

Wait, Charlie isn't bringing in Lidge. He just jumped past Jerry as the smartest Manuel.

This series is going back to New York. I hope Pettite will fare better on a 3-day rest than AJ had tonight.

Madson might as well blow it. Be a perfect capper to this crappy postseason.

Strike this ****er out, Madsen.

FUUUUUUUU

Thank goodness. I was already anticipating Raiden popping in and calling that the greatest comeback in the history of professional sports.

The Yankees gave it a great fight...obviously a 8-2 comeback from the 8th inning was really difficult.

People may hate the yanks, but they just hate at how good these guys play. I think them winning in the bronx will make this a nice send off to the inaugural season of Yankee Stadium . *crosses fingers*

It's kinda sad knowing that the Phillies quite possibly could have been up 3-2.

Oh wellllll. Nice win.

and if it did happen, then any sane person would say the same thing.

That double play by jeter sucked

Pedro will pitch lights out on Wed. You'll see.

And Ryan Howard needs to get his ****ing act together. He's so out of sync.

That game was almost exactly like Game 5 of the ALCS. Burnett gets rocked, Yankees are getting owned, but then almost comeback with a rally late in the game. They're taking the next game. This team has heart, and Andy is a big game pitcher. I'm assuming that Pedro is pitching, and he needs to get smacked hard. Get it done Yanks, you're coming home!

Gonna be some nerve racking moments in that game. I have a lot of confidence in Pettite in this game. I think Pedro is gonna pitch his ass off.

My thoughts exactly...Tex looked as bad as Swisher did at the final at-bat

I have more faith in Andy Pettite then Burnett, just because AJ is so wild.

Andy has not had great numbers on short rest, but he will pitch his ass off as well.

They need to get to Pedro early. The Phillies bullpen hasn't been very good. If they can do that, they should win this game.

Yeah, no they wouldn't. It would have made for an impressive comeback, but nowhere near the greatest ever.

That's my thinking too. Andy's a warrior, he's a clutch pitcher, and now he's got an opportunity to win the world series in the Bronx. That's why I have no problem with how Girardi has decided to work the rotation.

Let's hope so!

I dont want to get ahead of myself, but at the start of the season...Would you have envisioned the Yankees ending the world series at Yankee stadium against Pedro Martinez ? This is what baseball is all about.

Seriously though...this game will probably run into the bullpen.

This has been one of the more entertaining WS in a long time.
