I like the snarky looking Lupica at the bottom there. His face is just

I agree, which is why I'll be ignoring any statements about starting Gaudin. This one ESPN said they should have started Gaudin for game 5, and then Start AJ for game 6 and Pettite for Game 7, and then said have CC in the bullpen for game 7. That's basically saying to me you'd start Gaudin over CC, which he probably didn't mean, but that's how it sounds, and it is insane.
Starting Gaudin in Game 5 wasnt an option for Girardi. Anyone with even a rudimentary knowledge of the last 3 months of the season knows this. Gaudin cannot get left-handed hitters out. he wouldnt stand a chance against a Phillies team that is stacked with great left-handed hitting and more than capable switch hitters. Not starting Gaudin isnt Guirardi's mistake. Girardi's mistake was sticking Joba back in the pen for the playoffs.
You are telling me Gaudin would have lasted less than AJ's brilliant outing? The point is, game 5 WAS NOT a must win for the Yankees but Girardi acted like it was. If the series was tied 2-2 or the team was down 1-3 then by all means yes, you go with AJ on short rest. But being up 3-1 allows you latitude. You don't jeopardize the rest of your staff when you are in the position of being up 3-1, period! But Girardi just did that, and now he made the series much more difficult for the team than it had to be.
You pitch Gaudin and you take your chances. After all, he is a major league pitcher, this isn't some single A starter we are using for the first time and he is built up enough to throw at least 60 pitches. If he tanks worse than AJ did, which I find that very hard to believe, than you pitch the rest of the night the same way they ended up doing after AJ anyway, by using Aceves, Coke etc...
If Andy lasts 4 innings tonight, it will be a miracle. Andy admitted he had "nothing" in his last outing against the Phillies but he had to gut it out. Now he is even on less rest. Phillies will tee off of him. Girardi brought this upon himself when it wasn't in the least bit necessary. Now he has Phillies batters salivating at the way the Yanks pitching is lined up.
AJ on regular rest, AT HOME, wins tonight's game, no doubt about it. Now, I would favor a crafty Pedro over a short rested Pettitte who will get teed off tonight. Which leads us into a crapshoot game 7, which was completely avoidable!
lol ****in VicenteVicente Padilla shot himself in the leg. What kind of hijinks will that kooky cat get up to next?

It's easy for you to say that Girardi should've started Gaudin now that Burnett bombed in game 5.
Time for the heart of the order to step the **** up. Howard needs to get his **** together or the Phils are done.
because Game 7 would be tomorrow night, when Fringe is usually on
