It doesnt get any better then this. This is why its GREAT to be a die-hard fan. The casual fans--who just start watching in the playoffs--they dont and CANT understand how WE feel right now.
We follow this team non-stop all season. We get excited about FA signings and trades--we criticize them and/or get excited about them. We analyze the team. We count down the days till pitchers and catchers. We watch meaningless ST games, and get excited when kids who will be playing in AA or AAA have nice games....We are excited for Opening Day, and go insane when the Yanks lose and CC has a bad start (it happened this year lol) we get upset when guys go on the DL, and analyze what moves should be made to replace them. We start threads about guys we should trade for an endlessly debate them. We complain when Girardi mismanages a game, whether its a pitching change or maybe he bunted someone when he shouldnt have. We live and die with every game---whether its April 10, June 7, or November 2. We follow the division race against our archrival Red Sox. We remember the great regular season moments...such as Posada walkoff against Fuentes, ARod's HR in his first AB back vs Orioles, the three straight walkoffs vs Twins in May, Rivera's 500th save vs the Mets, Jeter passing Gehrig, the 15-inning classic vs Boston, Damon and Tex going back to back to complete the Red Sox sweep in August, and so many others. We also remember some of the tough losses and some of the early season doubt we had. But thats what makes it great to be a big fan....you experience the day in and day out of the season. Then of course everything that happens in the playoffs and in the WS.
