Yeah where da **** is the buzz about Gaines Adams death?

its gonna be great to see peyton carve up the jets like a thanksgiving turkey..cant stand the overhyped jets..luckiest team in the playoffs

I'm going to chug a chocolate milkshake every time they say "Cinderella" when referring to the Jets.

To look at the other hand, I think that the Jets have a much better secondary than the Ravens, which could help them keep Peyton under control long enough for the running game to do something on offense and control the clock. I still think that Indy will most likely be in the SB, but the Jets aren't dead in the water this weekend.

You can call them Lucky but plenty of other teams were ahead of them and they couldn't get it done when they needed to like the Jags and Fins. If they can keep it close like they did with Chargers there might be trouble. I'll probably still pick Indy though.

Immmortalfire will be 6000 pounds by Sunday.

It freaked me out to see a Gaines Adams photo with his birth year and death date I was like what the hell happened!

i just want rex ryan to just his fat arse up..stop talking

Well, when Giants made the playoff that year, people didn't think they belong either. But they went and defeated the undefeated NE Pats. So anything's possible this time of year.

Agreed. No one thought the Cardinals would do anything last year. Odds are in the Colts favor, but I wouldn't bet against the momentum of the Jets either.

Anyhow, my picks for this week...I think the only chance I have to get back into the play-off poll is to vote for the two underdogs who most people will vote against so...

Vikings over Saints
Jets over Colts

The difference between the Giants, Cardinals and Jets is that the Giants and Cardinals had legit starting QB's.

I'm taking Minnesota and Indianapolis this weekend.

its Mark Sanchez' FIRST YEAR as the starting quarterback....what exactly in blue hell are people expecting??

Kurt Warner has been playing QB since Ben Hur was racing chariots and Eli comes from football playing sperm

I don't think its even been enough time do determine if Sanchez is "legit" or not

Yeah, I hope things turn out like that.

When the Jets drafted him, I certainly didn't expect Mark Sanchez to be int he AFC Championship in his rookie year.

Even though he is by far the worst QB left in the playoffs, he's still a legit QB for the fact that other rookie QB's would have easily cost their team a win in the same position as Mark Sanchez. He only has to take care of the football and keep the defense honest, but plenty of QB's have won the Super Bowl doing just that.

As the games against Cinci and San Diego have proven, Sanchez doesn't need to win the game for them or carry the team on his shoulders. If their defense keeps them in it, and he can make a couple more big plays than mistakes, they have a shot.

I'm taking Minnesota and New York for my pick this weekend.

yup, he's not that good but like you said as long as he takes care of the ball and leave it up to the defense and running

perfect example of this was the year the Bears went to the SB with Grossman

Kurt Warner won his Super Bowl his first year as a starter ;)

But I don't believe those type of QB's can win a Super Bowl in the game today. I think Dilfer is the last "game manager" we are going to see win a Super Bowl. Even Brad Johnson was more than simply a guy that didn't make mistakes with Tampa.

Mark Sanchez has proven that he CAN be a competent NFL starting QB (something he didn't display until the wildcard game), but I don't believe Sanchez is close to being a "good" NFL QB which is needed to win a Super Bowl or to make it most years (waiting for someone to bring up Rex Grossman in Chicago).

Cinci and San Diego were the best matchups the Jets could have faced. Peyton Manning has a VERY successful track record against Rex Ryan.

My picks for this week:

Jets over Colts
Saints over Vikings

I could argue that Big Ben was more of a game manager with his first Super Bowl, only required to make a few big throws that he DID make. Sanchez is fully capable of throwing a bomb to Edwards if he gets open. I think the Johnson was required to do SOME work, but he still didn't have to do hardly anything with that defense in 02. Dilfer, Johnson, in a way Big Ben in 04, and yes, Rex Grossman were all in their own way game managers, relying more on the running game and especially defense to get them to the Super Bowl. I do admit the team's odds are better if the QB can take over the game, but this game, Indy/NY, IMO isn't going to be decided based on the fact that Sanchez can't take over and control the game with his arm.

The Jets' running game is much better than the Ravens, PLUS they have a wildcat play or two in place as well. If they keep pounding the running game, all it would take is a play action or flea flicker deep to Edwards for a TD and Sanchez is a hero for life in New York.

I think Sheppard, Revis, and Leonard will shut down Indy's passing game for the most part, but if New York can't get first downs with the running game, Peyton will pick them apart in time. New York HAS to control the clock and keep Manning on the sidelines to win this game. It's fully possible they can do it, but if they get behind early it's basically over.

Okay, done rambling. I probably shouldn't post very much after midnight when my brain shuts down at 11.
