60% completion. 2/0 TD/INT. 100+ QB rating. 9 yards an attempt.

He only threw 31 passes, but he was good in the time he had.

I agree he was good last year with limited time and I think he can still play IMO. I just remember him not being very mobile when he left the Jags and well as a Buc QB somtimes your running for your life you know:D Of course he was always getting hurt with the Jags if I remember right, maybe he's all healthy now.

If the competition is open I don't know how he won't be Mccown.

As long as the Bucs don't draft Freeman at 19, I could care less what "we" do.

I'd prefer the best DT available at 19 or best WR available, but you just don't know what could fall into your lap.

That being said, I'd rather go into the season with a sensible pick at 19 and Luke McCown under center than taking Freeman, especially with the lack of a 2nd Round pick.

Agreed. McCown will be a bust and we don't have a second pick.

And they may have a QB of the future in Josh Johnson

Since the Jets's draft pick is two picks before the Bucs, this had no impact on his chances of ending up in New York.

The best scenario for Freeman is to go to Indianapolis in the first, a team where he will not be asked to start for 2+ years.

I don't know didly about Johnson where did he play colleg ball at? what kind of QB is he? I agree about Feeman.

The Bucs have one of the best Offensive Lines in the NFL. I think Leftwich will excell in Tampa.

He is a young, project QB from San Diego. Very fast, very raw.

I just read an article where he was admitting the game was so much faster he felt like a guy standing on a freeway and now it's slowed down by more than half. They asked him if he was worried about the new system. He was like no last year was all about slowing the game down for me now it's about system and letting my reflexes and football knowledge carry me.

As I said i'm pretty sure leftwich will start.

Leftwich in Tampa is exactly what I was hopeing for. Now we have nicely rounded offense, I am sure Tampa is the team to watch this year.

Johnson:D It also mentioned him and McCown split throws (each throwing about 100 passes) becuase Griese was home with his wife whose 8 months pregnant so he enjoyed the work.

YEEEESSSS!!!!

Good news for all Steeler fans, and not so good for opposing QB's:

Steelers, star LB Harrison reach new deal

PITTSBURGH (AP) —Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison has reached terms on a $51.75 million, six-year contract that will make the NFL Defensive Player of the Year the second highest-paid player in franchise history.

The contract set to be announced Tuesday will pay Harrison a guaranteed $20 million - more than any other player in team history except Ben Roethlisberger. The quarterback signed a $102 million, eight-year contract last year that will pay him a guaranteed $36 million.

Harrison broke into the Steelers lineup in 2007 and had 8 sacks. He had a Steelers-record 16 sacks in 15 games last season, and his 100-yard interception return for a TD in the Super Bowl helped the Steelers beat Arizona.

I actually smiled when I read that this morning.

I'm so effin' glad we got him back. I'm actually shocked that he didn't shop around first (nor was it stated anywhere that I saw that any other teams actively tried to sign him).

RIP Harry Kalas, the voice of NFL Films after John Facenda.

He was still under contract until 2010.

I think Harrison also knows that he wouldn't be nearly as good as he was last year behind any other team.

Man, Pats got screwed.

Week 7: In London "at' Tampa
Week 10: At Indy, Sunday Night Football
Week 12: At New Orleans, Monday Night Football
Weel 13: At Miami, Sunday Night Football

They will be T.I.R.E.D. come that Miami game.

I can't stand to watch blowhards like Trent Dilfer on this ESPN schedule release show, who's spewing crap such as Rodgers is the best QB in the NFC East even with the addition of Cutler to the Bears. Luckily, Miami's schedule was available online. Tough schedule coming off an 11-5 year. We'll see how they stack up against the Indys, Pittsburghs, and New Englands of the world.

Whatever the case, they both take a backseat to JaMarcus Russell, so...

Falcons get 2 prime time games! vs. Bears on Sunday night, Oct 18

and At New Orleans on a Monday night, Nov 2

2 home games to open the season, Dolphins then Panthers.

Carolina has two primetime games. @ Dallas (MNF) and home against the Vikings.

Eagles got four primetime games, only one at home though. As a ticket holder those are always the games I look at first. Would have liked to see The Broncos game at night.

Patriots get 4 plus the London, and thats including the super bowl

Excel believes in counting eggs before the hen even lays them.

Miami has no chance of making the playoffs with that schedule... that's why winning the division in the AFC kills you the following year... that was the difference between the Pats not making it last year. Those Pitt/Indy/SD games are killers. Unless you are NE with a healthy Brady... or one of those other three teams... you might as well add a number in the loss column every time you see one of those teams on the schedule. With the NFC there is a lot more parity so it doesn't make a difference where you finish. I will look forward to seeing the Dolphins go back to their usual 6-10... but I wish Pennington the best and hope he has many more years as a starter in the league.

Panthers have a rough schedule. :csad: I wouldn't be surprised to see Atlanta win it this year.
