Top 5 post of the year...

^ If Tebow could somehow resist hitting that like he was Ike Turner playing Whack-a-Mole than perhaps he truly is the son of the All Mighty....
Well people that are crowning Tebow need to calm down. That goes from anaylsts (which seem to just give positive praise constantly for whatever is popular) to apologists. Was it not that long ago that Vince Young came into the NFL and in his first season when he took over for Kerry Collins won a ton of games for the Titans down the stretch just juking defenders while having awful passing ability? Now look where he is. The Broncos haven't really played any true playoff teams that are Super Bowl contenders. Tebow could be a good player in this league, but his passing skills are going to have to improve vastly. This little streak isn't going to work long term for the franchise. Elway probably knows this. It will be interesting to see how he performs against the Bears and the Patriots back to back.
Yeah, that's pretty much the truth.
What amazes me is that they always talk about his "intangibles" and his work ethic and all of that. I think I would buy into that a little bit more if he wasn't still throwing as poorly and slowly as he did before he was drafted. The fact that he hasn't improved means one of two things: Tebow either A. hasn't put in the hard work needed to improve or B. doesn't have the talent to play at the NFL level.
You could argue that the lockout might have slowed his development and perhaps he's not working with the best people, but these coaches should at least be able to help him throw like an NFL quarterback, even if it's only a mediocre one. That's what they do. If they can't do that, then most likely it means that Tebow will never truly be successful unless he continues to only play teams that can't handle a guy who completes one bubble screen and one deep ball per game.
I believe that both Elway and Fox have already gave up on Tebow, but since Orton wasn't winning anyway they figured that they'd toss Tebow out there to satisfy his rabid fans. They thought that if he started losing, the Tebow-mania would dissipate over time, and they can replace him with either Orton or another QB who can actually throw and fits the mold of a NFL QB. That's why they let him run the Options and appears to have stopped forcing him to learn how to throw properly. Now that he has won 3 out of 4, both Elway and Fox are in a bind, but I guess it's sort of a win-win situation for them; if Tebow loses, they can get rid of him (which is what they wanted), but if Tebow wins, they'd look like geniuses for starting him in the first place.
Yeah, pretty much. Either way, they come out of it looking okay. I just wish one of these "analysts" on NFLN or ESPN would have the balls to stop softballing it when they ask these guys questions. When they talked to Elway before the game yesterday, how refreshing would it have been to hear someone say: "So John, how does it feel to be playing the role of Captain Figurehead, making no real decisions about the team where you buillt your legacy, but rather simply brought in to quell the wrath of a rabid fanbase divided between old Broncos fans that know the team won't make the post-season for another 10 years unless all of the other teams in the AFC West get infected with bubonic plague, and a bunch of bandwagon-jumping Biblethumpers who think Tim Tebow has been personally sent down by God to revert football back six decades like Rick Perry trying to turn back the clock on American politics?"
You know, based on the way the media acted this morning, I would have never guessed that Tebow went 9 for 20 with only about 100 passing yards! The kid just can't throw and if you can't throw you can't play quarterback in the NFL. It is really that simple. Once defensive coordinators start to get a read on him, that'll be it.
Yeah, I hope someone blows them out 59-0. It's coming. It has to be.
Also, how do you guys think Houston will fare with...

Seeing highlights this morn, Tim still throws the ball like it weighs 20 pounds.
He looks so odd throwing the ball and I couldn't put my finger on why.
You have absolutely nailed it. That's exactly what it looks like.
