Bear in mind that if you see the Bengals losing to the Steelers, Ravens, and Texans, their final record would be 9-7, not 10-6.

I gave them the Houston game. I just said that I think that they COULD lose it but I think they'll pull it off.

Eh, his biggest problem is still what's between his ears as that lobbed pick last week could attest (as well as several other dumb plays).

His arm, to me, isn't the issue and never has been. Sure, it's serviceable at best and would keep him out of being a top 5 QB even if he strung the rest of his game together. But his head's still his biggest issue.

I agree, but there are alot of desperate teams in the NFL that need a QB, so any QB that appears to have shown some promises will get noticed and a job offer. I mean, both Cassel and Fitzpatrick have had a short period of success, yet both got a big contract rewarding them even though neither of them have proved to be a great QB in the long run.

Norv is a bad head coach, but he's not the one who has left that team lacking talent all over the field. AJ Smith deserves his share of the blame.

He knows exactly what he's saying, he's just hyping up his player the way every coach does. I mean, didn't Rex Ryan call Mark Sanchez an elite QB before?

No, I dont recall Rex calling Sanchez a elite QB in this league.

Rex Ryan on Mark Sanchez: 'He's an elite quarterback because he wins the big games
From August 18, 2011, day after Eli said he was an Elite QB.

there goes that word again.....has it become this big source of validation all of a sudden?

From August 18, 2011, day after Eli said he was an Elite QB.

Well, Rex said his personal opinion and gave his reasoning behind it his thoughts then.

He is basing that on Sanchez's playoff performances and some big games near the latter portion of the past 2 seasons.

Sanchez has won alot of big games and he has led the league in comebacks since he joined the league with most game winning drives.

I don't believe Sanchez to be a elite QB right now and I'd think Rex would agree with me today.

I'm placing bets on this Darthphere/BlackLantern match.

But he still called him elite. Then again what was he suppose to say. Nah, he's not?

Same thing with Eli, although Eli, has proven it more this year than Sanchez has.

And the Oscar goes to...

I personally don't believe that winning some games in the playoff can make Sanchez elite; he has to be able to do it in the regular season and with much higher completion % and better TD-to-INT ratio. However, Rex is always going for hyperbole so I won't take anything he said seriously.

There is a lot of talk circulating that if Peyton Manning's Wednesday medical checkup is not EXCEPTIONAL (which seems unlikely), he will be retiring.

I have a hard time believing that Manning would just throw in the towels like that, but no matter what happens to his test results, the Colts have Luck in the bag (unless Luck returns to Stanford for last year of his eligibility).

I still say that if the Colts draft Luck, they need to force Peyton out. They can't have their cake and eat it too. Peyton got paid $26 million this year for doing nothing. He will be paid $28 million next year. Luck is going to be at MINIMUM $10 million on their cap. So that will be nearly $40 million towards two quarterbacks, one of whom is warming the bench. Luck doesn't need a learning period. He is NFL ready. Keeping him on the bench will only cause him to stagnate. Even a GM as stupid as Bill Polian needs to realize that drafting Luck while keeping Manning is stupid.

I agree, but if Payton is healthy enough to return next season, and they've already said that they'll draft Luck, I think Colts will do the stupid thing and keep both QB on the team. Polian may not be that stupid, but he's not thick-skinned and the fans will be clamoring for Payton's return, broken neck or not. We've seen teams that catered to fans' wishes in the NFL (exhibit A: Tebow and the Broncos), and I think Colts will probably follow suit.

But they'll know by the draft whether or not Peyton is going to be capable of playing. If it even looks like he is and they intend to keep him, they need to just pass on Luck and build another aspect of their team. No team should live or die based on the quarterback position. Polian drafting Luck implies to me that he has no idea what caused him to be in this mess to begin with.

I've read a lot of speculation today that Philadelphia may try to deal Reid's contract to San Diego after the season.

OH GOD NO! Reid is just as bad as Norv is! The Bolts need to fire both AJ and Norv and pay out the nose to get someone like Cowher in as HC with someone he trusts as GM.

I hope my follow Greek Spanos doesn't pull a cheap-Greek move and keep both of those clowns cause he fired Marty after a 14-2 season that end because of 4 foul ups in the 07 Divisional Game vs the Pats. Remove the botched punt return or fumbled int and the Bolts go on to win the Super Bowl that year!

Guys. Let's not speculate over the Peyton Manning fiasco, and let me tell you about this guy Drew Brees...

:awesome:
