It looks like the Browns have the game in the bag.

I think I'm going to go 14-0 with my picks with my picks this week.

It is official now. Beason is a New York Giant.

Goodbye Beast. :csad:

Noooooooooooooooooooo....yet somehow I don't care as much. As I should.

Oh hey...Panthers have 10th ranked D in the league....and 26th ranked OFFENSE. Oh what the hell....is this Fox Ball before the Manning era? Son of a...blee blob.

Potential conference championship matchup tonight

If you really want to see the NFL get TNA ratings, you keep on wishing that on the world.:o

Damn, Hoyer tore his ACL.

That's a shame... his solid play actually had me mildly interested in the Browns. I know they won last night (mostly) without him but I can't fathom any way the Browns get above .500 this season with dopey Brandon Weedin at QB.

Browns-Bills is whats best for business

But seriously, that is so unfortunate for Cleveland fans.

Not just in football, but sports in general, I've never been a fan of booing the home team. Why? I know they need a kick in the butt, how about just cheering as loud as you can?

Booing the home team is sometimes the best way to communicate with your team, trust me I'm a rams fan.

Sucks about Hoyer. I kinda liked him, despite his beating the Bengals last week. If he was going to get hurt so quickly, why not during week 3 so that the Bengals could have beaten Weedon :(

I feel bad for Norv Turner. He had a good thing going for him. Don't get me wrong, Hoyer could have just been lucky, but he was the QB that Cleveland needed.

I wouldn't be entirely shocked to see the Browns make a move on Freeman. I know there are reports indicating that they won't pull the trigger on that, but it wouldn't surprise me at all. The front office may have given up on the season, but at 3-2, the Browns and their coaching staff have not. The Browns would have to lose out and hope that other teams win to have a legit shot at a top tier draft QB. Since Johnny Football in Cleveland is becoming a long shot, my guess is that the coaching staff leans on the front office to sign Freeman to a one year deal. If Freeman plays like he is capable of (and he is the perfect type of quarterback for Chudzinski) and Ray Horton's defense keeps up....the Browns could seriously make a run at the division.

Now, if Freeman's career has a revival in Cleveland (and honestly, there is no reason to think it wouldn't: Freeman, despite inconsistency, does have upside)....with two first round picks next season and the AFC North on the decline...Browns could quickly become a threat throughout the league.

As much as I want to disagree with you and hope that Cleveland never wins the division, I agree 100% with your post. The timing for Freeman couldn't have been anymore perfect.

Yeah, it really is a perfect storm, so to speak. Plus the circumstances in Cleveland are so ideal for Freeman. Unlike Schiano (who railroaded Josh Freeman, IMO), Chudzinski is a perfect coach for Freeman. Freeman has a lot of the same skill sets as Cam Newton, maybe not as much natural talent, but there is similarity. In addition, Freeman is a great fit for Norv Turner's vertical offense.

The way that front office insiders have already ruled out Freeman is what disturbs me. It is almost like the ownership wants the Browns to tank so they can start selling Johnny Manziel Browns jerseys. It is virtually the plot from the movie Major League (and Jimmy Haslam is every bit sleazy enough to pull crap like that). That being said, one bad game from Weeden (who is very clearly not Chudzinski's guy) and Chudzinski can start putting pressure on the front office to move on Freeman.

That kind of thinking is why it pisses me off that Cleveland is actually #1 in the division and will be tied if Baltimore wins on Sunday. Don't squander the damn season when you're still on top. Worst case scenario, Freeman will be able to manage the game better than Weeden wishes he could.

A one-year deal isn't going to hurt anything if the intention is to draft a QB anyway. Because the flip side is, if you squander this season for Manziel and he turns out to be a bust, what does that make the Browns front office look like? Even worse than they already do now.

If they don't make the move, I wouldn't be surprised to see some very real pressure from Roger Goodell, onto Jimmy Haslam, over the offseason. I think it is pretty clear that the NFL regrets approving Haslam as owner of the Browns, in light of the fact that he is under federal investigation by the FBI and IRS for fraud. Now it seems like he is trying to throw the season, a season in which the Browns have shown that they have talent to compete, so he can get the most marketable player in the draft. Hell, Manziel could be outperformed in the combine and every workout by Bridgewater, McCarron and Murray and I still wouldn't be surprised to see the Brownies trade up with those two first round picks so they can draft him. It is all about getting his marketability to Haslam, even at the expense of the team. Combined with his outside the NFL troubles, Goodell is not going to stand for Haslam for long.
