His career numbers are:
2010 - 2014: 923 Rushing atts 4,061 Yards 4.4 avg 23 tds.
For a guy who is "NEVER HEALTHY" - that's a ton of carries in 5 years. I will take him in a RB by committee with Murray, him, and Sproles. Share the touches, minimize the injuries. Hopefully... right?
If you guys have found an ingenious way for Mathews not to be tackled on the gridiron or to score from the bench, then yeah. Sure.
So based on last years stats, he was a beast and he led the league in most yards after initial contact... yea - he is completely an injury waiting to happen.
Again, he has been on the weekly injury report for majority of his career. Being an Eagle fan, I'm shocked you aren't aware of such details regarding your rivals.
In addition, The Cowboys have the best OL in the NFL. Murray is not replicating the same season he had with the Cowboys this year.
I think Sam is better equipped to run this offense (hurry-up spread option was his college offense) than Foles. But like i said, I am not completely ok with offloading a cheap Foles for a pricey, banged up Bradford... but i still think a healthy Bradford gives us a much better chance of winning in this offense than a healthy Foles in this offense.
Agree to disagree. To reiterate, Foles could fire a rocket down the field. Bradford is the complete opposite of that. He's an Alex Smith model with less mobility. Ask Ram fans about Sam's inability to complete a throw beyond 15 yards.
Mccoy: He wanted too much money... we got a baller middle LB, Murray, and a draft pick for roughly $1M more than Shadys new contract... umm.. yes please. He danced too much. he will be great in buffalo. he can dance behind that line all game long.
While I grant you Eagles the winners of Alonso-McCoy trade, that still doesn't negate the fact that Kelly just traded away a Top Three RB for a LB who has two torn ACLs in four years. Kiko is one away from being finished. He's not Thomas Davis.
Wrong. Shady is the most elusive back in the NFL outside Bell. That's exactly the type of RB you needed behind your OL. Power Backs can't create their own opportunities.
Jackson - Prima Donna who NEVER showed up for playoff games or games when the opposing team had a decent secondary. was he good? yes. did we miss him? yes. i wish we got draft picks for him or something - but he was a locker room distraction so I get why Chip canned him.
Not really. Let's not pretend Kelly wanted Jackson out because he was a distraction or a cancer. If that were the case, Riley wouldn't be on the squad. DeSean was and still is one of the most threatening WRs that can blow off the tops of defenses.
Maclin - He wanted too much money. Chiefs were willing to pay - eagles weren't. he is from MO so going home to play with the man who drafted him for more money makes sense. sometimes players just want to go play elsewhere.
Maclin is a #2 receiver and he played like a #1 last season in the absence of Jackson. If you want both speed and hands on a receiver, then you gotta pay. Those type of weapons don't come cheap.
He was your last deep threat. Kelly better hope he finds a gem in the draft or else your offense will be as slow as ours.
Foles - Chip didn't see him fitting in... he knows what he wants a heck of a lot better than you and I know. So i trust that he knows what he is doing. Something about Bradford caught his eye. Do i know what it is? nope - but i am ok with him dumping Foles for Bradford.
I'm certain if Kelly had signed Tim Tebow, you'd find a way to praise him and proclaim how he fits in your system too. Nobody believes Bradford > Foles. If Chip can't draft Mariota, you guys are boned. I'm willing to go on a sig bet on that one.
We off-loaded 3 players who in the past 3 years all missed substantial time due to MAJOR injuries... and 2 of them just signed for way too much money.
Surely you're not talking about who's overspending? That would be ironic as hell considering who you recently signed and gave away.
