Is anyone really going to argue he isn't guilty after he destroyed the phone at such a convenient time?

I look forward to the season opener. My dudes need every win they can get with their schedule. I am so glad Brady is suspended for at least the first game.
Brady will no doubt take this to court. Things will get ugly.

I don't know why Brady didn't just hand the phone over to the NFL so Kraft's good buddy Goodell could have it destroyed (like what happened to the Spygate tapes).
I mean, leave the destruction of evidence to the professionals, don't do it yourself!
The NFLPA would have never allowed Brady to hand his phone over anyway. That is a breach of the rights of the union members. So honestly, the cell phone is irrelevant. The interesting thing is that this isn't even about deflating footballs anymore. The phone is the smoking gun.
I hope this is just another step towards Goodell getting canned.
The NFLPA GAVE Goodell this power. They gave him this power because they wanted money. The NFLPA & the players should man up & reap what they sow
What's silly is that it's completely irrelevant what he did with his phone. He was never obliged to give more info than he gave (which was the most digital information ever requested and given in NFL history), and he was never told of any potential punitive action regarding his phone. Either way, they were never going to get the info from the phone, whether it were destroyed or not. Not to mention all of this is based on something that occurred well after the investigation when he complied fully within the rules during the investigation. It appears to be less about the balls deflating as it about not complying and actually destroying evidence.

Source: http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story...land-patriots-fans-accepting-league-penaltiesAttorney John M. Dowd, the investigator and author of the report that led Major League Baseball to ban Pete Rose, weighed in Wednesday and said Brady was "ambushed" by Goodell and that the "entire NFL disciplinary process lacks integrity and fairness."
"The record of the Wells investigation shows that this cellphone was not an issue or charge below. Tom and his counsel made it clear the cellphone would not be produced. He was not cited by Wells for failure to cooperate -- a separate charge never made -- because he did cooperate," Dowd said. "Thereafter, [Goodell] punished him for the tampering and made no reference to the absence of the phone or lack of cooperation.
"Meanwhile, the flawed Wells report was demolished publicly which put Goodell between a rock and a hard place given his dismal record with disciplinary decisions. As a result, Wells and the commissioner ambushed Brady on appeal with the phone and a new charge, to wit: failure to cooperate. But they knew and had no quarrel with the non-production of the phone before they learned it had been destroyed. By adding it to the reason for the suspension, the NFL commissioner has denied Tom Brady the fundamental right to notice of a charge and the right to defend against it."
The NFLPA might want to strike, but it is hard to get enough players to agree. And if they do they will break long before the NFL does. A small number of billionaires against a couple thousands players, most of which who don't make enough money to last them 6 months? This is true. Not a very good move by the NFLPA...
It just makes me scared for how the next collective bargaining negotiations between the NFL and the NFLPA are going to go. I'm sure the concept of Goodell being judge, jury, and executioner is going to go by the wayside. If it doesn't, can you say the word "strike"? I knew you could...
Case is going to be heard in New York. Looking good for the NFL.
