2016 Primaries and Caucuses Thread - Part 1

Since we are more than likely stuck with Trump or Clinton for President, this would be a perfect year for Monty Brewster to run...

Ralph Nader really missed his window of opportunity in this election.

I cast my first vote as an independent for Ralph Nader in 2000.

But at age 82 , I think that he would have trouble attracting voters,
particularly younger voters with Sanders out there.

I think we're not going to see another Nader - a true third party candidate that had a decent amount of votes and attention given - for a long time, instead we're going to continue to get candidates that are on the fringe but are still working within the biggest parties like Trump and Bernie.

Of course, we will still always have parties other than the GOP and Dems, but I don't see candidates like Stein or Johnson tipping their toes into the pool of relevancy anytime soon.

CNN projects that Donald Trump has won Indiana.

Bernie might just barely squeak out a win in Indiana. Doesn't matter. He needs to win by margins of 60% or more to still truly be in this.

Phony Super Delegate business ****ed him over. More establishment shenanigans.

Phony Super Delegate business ****ed him over. More establishment shenanigans.

He is losing the pledged delegate and popular vote count by large margins, and trails far behind in votes from women and minorities. Hillary would likely win it even if there were no super d's giving endorsements to anyone prior to the convention.

The Super delegates have nothing to do with him needing to win by that much. He is behind her in pledged delegates and in the popular vote. The only way for him to catch her is to win in each state by double digits.

Cruz is supposedly dropping out tonight. We'll see if that actually happens.

He might as well. Its a waste of time and money to keep spending money in the primaries. If he is still banking on a contested convention he might as well focus on that path.

Ted Cruz quits.

Sanders needs to do the same. Trump is now going to start unifying the Republican Party. This is such a dangerous game that the Sanders campaign is playing. They are now going to force Clinton to fight a war on two fronts, against Sanders and a unified Republican Party. This will hurt her campaign and make the path easier for Donald Trump (who has been using the "victimization" of Sanders as a rallying point to hurt Clinton). Sadly, a marginal win in Indiana is only going to embolden Sanders and his selfishness.

Now Trump can focus on the general election, but Hillary is blocked from doing the same by a DINO thats trying to sabotage the party he claims to be a part of.

At this point Bernie is doing more to help Trump than himself or Hillary.

I would honestly say just dropping it and becoming her running mate would be the best recourse.

And ABC says Bernie looks to have won my home state.

Sanders as Clinton's running mate would destroy her ticket. Plus he is too stubborn to take such an offer anyway.

At this point, she needs to offer him something that gets him out of the race, keeps him off the ticket, and does not go into effect until after the election.

I'd say Secretary of Labor, but that won't be good enough for Bernie Sanders. She should offer him Treasury Secretary. It is the only thing that gives him enough power and attention (because make no mistake, despite his talks of altruism, that is what he is after) to placate his massive ego.

Of course, Treasury Secretary Sanders would be a disaster...so she either needs to break that promise or pray the Senate blocks him.

Bernie will drop out June 7th after the California primary.

Another month of Bernie won't hurt Hillary. She and the media have been ignoring him since he lost New York.

Based on his recent actions and statements I dont know how I feel about him being in the white house bickering and fighting with dems and republicans and Hillary. He is toxic and combative and anything Hillary tried to get done good or bad would be marred by him. He'd piss everyone off and we do need the white house and congress to somewhat get along and compeomise on some things. Bernie wants to ram rod and have it all right now when he wants it and thats not how **** works or gets done.

I confess it would've been interesting to see him and Trump at each other.
