I like how Jack's motivation in this is owing President Heller and his family, so more personal.

Just watched the premier..awesome!

The Lt. that got set up for the drone strike; was i the only one who lol when the captain was reading out loud the emails he supposedly wrote about the Officer who revoked his pass..i think he called him a *****. :D

Anyhow, Jack breaking Chloe out was badass. I'm wondering; it seems like Jack only found out that Chloe was being held/tortured after looking for Derek Yates. I'm wondering if he had learnt she was being held, despite the plot surrounding Heller, would have have rescued her regardless?

I hope the ratings are great so we´ll have more 24 seasons !!:yay:

Yeah, I laughed at that too. :oldrazz:

I think that Jack knew that Yates was linked to Chloe's organisation, but the problem was that he didn't know where the organisation was. So he broke out Chloe and planted that transmitter on her since he had a feeling that Chloe would lead him right to that organisation's doorsteps.

I now think that the only reason he knew Chloe was being detained, was because he was looking for Yates. I don't think he would have even found out she was being held otherwise.

I would like Chloe to ask him at some point, if he would have come to rescue her if he didn't need her to lead him to Yates, seeing as how she did time for him.

Why are the CIA allowed to run around London with sub-machine guns lol.....?

Do you guys think season 1 still holds up? I was rewatching it yesterday, and I don't know… I still like it, but it does seem a bit dated and slow, and the Kim stuff… ergh.

While the amnesia was bad, it wasn't any worse than other subplots in the later seasons like Chloe and the baby, Dana Walsh and the rednecks, Miles and the sexual harrasment girl, the undercover autistic kid, the whole Millikin fiasco with Sherry literally talking a man to death and the most memoriable of all - Kim's crazy season 2 adventures with the kidnapped girl, psycho dad, cougar, creepy bomb shelter guy and convenience store robber.

Yeah I guess. I guess it's because all the tropes of 24 we reflect on as cringe-worthy later, are presented in full seriousness in the first season. It's kinda like reading silver-age Marvel comics. You still like them, but you realize at the same time, they're kinda corny and dated.

I love 24 but dammit! Kim just kills it for me. Having to watch her stupid, belligerent antics is just too much of a chore.

I wonder if Kate's husband is going to turn out to be somebody important.

This is the entire reason I haven't rewatched the series. Some time ago I set out to so, got through season one, and then just couldn't bring myself to sit through season 2. I didn't mind Kim's character so much, as Ramsay said she was interesting later on, but all that nonsense in season 2 was some seriously poor writing.

Oh god, S2 Kim was awful. It was like they had no idea what to do with her but wanted to keep her around.

Yeah, alot of that was got my attention waning. But, I guess in hindsight they had so much time to fill they thought they could waste sometime to fill out the episodes.

It's why I've enjoyed the premiere so much. They seemed to effectively cut down to the most important scenes and storylines. It's all working well, really. I think they've made the right decisions on what storylines and characters are to be followed.

And I'm really happy with alot of these characters. Kate reminds me alot of Jack from the early seasons. She pulled some rogue ****, things Jack would have done.

So, I'm really happy with what I've seen so far. It was a really strong start.

Almost exactly that. It wasn't so much a case of wanted though, as had to. Elisha Cuthbert was contracted to the show for another season so they were legally obligated to include her for X amount of time. Sadly they didn't think, or bother, to include her in any interesting or meaningful way, instead writing her into a bunch of bizarre solo adventures that have long since turned into a running joke.

I can appreciate that including Kim into season two in any sort of important role might have been difficult, but the writers on the show weren't stupid people. They could have (should have) done better.

Maybe I need to go back and watch the first few seasons again? I haven't seen them in a while.

I think Kim should have flown the plane with the nuke on board. You George Mason fans know what I'm talking about. :o

No, but really. Yeah, she sucks.
