24: Live Another Day

I've skipped two seasons before this (stopped at Season 6), can anyone provide me with a quick recap of the previous two seasons and fill me up with the important details and story arcs that I need to know before watching this new season?

Edit- Yeah, just look at the wikia links on the previous page. After attempted to write out a quick recap I realized there was way too much that happened to sum it up in a couple paragraphs. Really, the most important thing to know however is Jack killed a LOT of high level Russian officials and attempted to kill the Russian president so he is now a fugitive and both the US and Russia are looking for him.

I've already tried reading the wiki before even coming here but there's too much information :woot: and so what I really need is a very concise recap of the previous two seasons, importantly how Jack get from Season 6 to start of Live Another Day, why did he went after the Russians and why Chloe is with the Hacker group.

I thought the sections of the wiki I linked to was actually pretty concise, since they're basically bullet points for the entire seasons. There wasn't a whole lot of missing information in such a short format. Even the hour-by-hour blurbs are pretty condensed bits of information. If the recapping was any shorter, it'd be glossing over some major plot points in both seasons.

Jack's scenes with Heller and Audrey were really good and Nawan(?) was bound to die, he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed.

It's cool to see Chloe and Kate now teaming up, Jack is gonna need them, his plan for next week seems to put him and Kate in a ****load of trouble.......so, classic Jack Bauer plan then. :funny:

I dont trust anyone! I'm so paranoid when i watch this show it's not even funny lol. I kinda trust Kate, but Navarro, Cross, Mark... i dont trust any of them :cmad:

Cross is the one in particular I'm waiting to see play his full hand, I also think Jordan might possibly be more than just a lovesick computer tech crushing on Kate, Chloe will clash with him for sure. :D

To answer those 2 specific questions; Jack went after the Russians because they killed Renee Walker, an FBI agent Jack got close to across seasons 7 and 8. After they had her killed he lost it and decided to take justice completely into his own hands, slaughtering a bunch of high up Russian officials and agents and then planning to kill their President before Chloe talked him down.

Chloe is with the hacker group as she helped Jack escape at the end of season 8, she went to prison and then people who wanted Jack targeted her and her husband and son were killed in the process, so she hooked up with the hacker group to fight back against a government she felt betrayed her.

Also the russians were involved in the murder of president hassan and presdent taylor was covering it up in order to keep the peace treaty alive, so that really set Jack off, the fact that nothing would be done about what happed to Renee and Hassan.

That meeting of Audrey and Jack was worth the 8 years.
Indeed, loved it! :woot:

here I thought the mom was nuts but looks like the daughter just as crazy
The husband was really stupid though. Why would he tell that crazy **** anything after she sold him out the first time?! Wife or not, he should have kept his mouth shut. I kept screaming at the tv that he was an idiot and shouldnt trust her. Yeah, this is what 24 does to me lol

After that ending, the crap has definitely hit the fan, that's for sure lol. I like seeing Kate and Chloe teaming up.

He's in love with Chloe (or so they're having us believe). I just cant help thinking that with that name (Cross) i cant trust him lol.

That Jordan kid, who knows. I'm not giving most of these people my trust! So far, only Kate. And if she's evil in the end, my jaw will drop to the floor, cause i wont be expecting it at all.

Oh I didn't know that! I didn't even bother looking at it because I've already been to the 24 wiki and I thought you're just sending me back to the same section I've looked into. That helps, thanks!

I happened to watch the movie POMPEII last night and was surprised to see the actress who plays the terrorist's daughter Simone Al-Harrazi in the same movie with Kiefer Sutherland! That's a neat connection, I thought!

Then about halfway through the movie I started thinking, "she looks pretty different than on '24'". I thought it was just the hairstyle.

So I looked up the cast names -- and it wasn't her!! But look how similar 24's Emily Berrington looks to Pompeii's Emily Browning (who was 'Baby Doll' in Sucker Punch)

Add Dove Cameron and they could all look like sisters

Emily Berrington looks like a cyborg out to destroy all of humanity.

Chloe might have to rescue Jack and Kate looking at next weeks promo, the Russian guy Jack is trying to do business with looks like Ranko Zamani from The Blacklist.

He's preying on Chloe I think, he got to her when she was vulnerable and is manipulating her, I just wonder if all his "freedom of information" stuff is a cover for something else.

I'll be shocked if Kate is a traitor as of the new characters she has by far the mos potential to carry on into the next season.
Thanks guys.

Now that everyone is on Jacks side..again…how do you guys think this season will end?

I really can't see this ending any other way other than Jack dying. Anything else will be rehashing what has happened in past seasons i.e. Jack being handed over to the Chinese, faking his own death, being on the run, etc…...

Jack wil be handed over to the Russians, inspire the people there to revolt, and become the President of Russia.

The future movie will deal with a conflict between Russia and USA. President Bauer vs. President Heller.

Why kill Jack if they want to do more seasons?

I think he just walks off into the sunset like at the end of Season 6.

I don't see them killing off his character. I think he'll be handed off to the Russians. I've come to the conclusion that Jack is always going to be on the run. I also don't think he would go back to his daughter since it always seems like someone is going to be after him. The best way to keep his family safe is to stay away from them.

I'm pretty sure the creator said the reason it was revived was to give Jack closure. I don't think that means he'll die, but I also can't see him being sent to a Russian prison.

'Live' Another Day, is the title after all... this is in fact the 'nother day from Day 8.

I must have missed that then. I'm not going to be upset if they give him a happy ending, but it just doesn't seem like his closure would be near his daughter. I just can't see Jack being close to her with everything that's happened over the course of this show.

The thing that I could see happening is Audrey's husband being a traitor in the end. Then maybe Jack ends up with her at some point? Even being near her wouldn't make sense. I guess we'll see what happens.

Who didn't see Simone turning on her husband? That was one of those patented 24 "twists" one could see a mile away.

But good episode overall.
