The iconic pulse-pounding clock resets when 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY premieres with a special two-hour television event Monday, May 5 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), and makes its time period premiere The Following week on Monday, May 12 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). The high-octane saga reunites the Emmy Award-winning team of executive producer Howard Gordon; star and executive producer Kiefer Sutherland; co-creator Robert Cochran; executive producers Evan Katz, Manny Coto, David Fury and Brian Grazer; and executive producer and director Jon Cassar.

New details from TCA:

So, it looks like she plays a CIA agent hunting down Jack. Jack's on a mission of his own. Chloe has left CTU and is like a radical version of Edward Snowden - she's turned against the government. James Heller is the leader of the free world and Audrey is part of his administration.

So, each episode is real-time just like before. Between each episode will be a time jump of an hour, I think.

I think it's going to be more her trying to clear Jack's name by exposing the government's cover-ups and abuses.

Hearing this though, I feel like Chole might not survive this season. I'd be more upset if she died than Jack to be honest. Not that I want Jack to bite the bullet but I always felt like Chole was safe on the show. This season, I'm not too sure.

My one request for this new series of 24 is that the writers dont go as trigger happy as they were in the previous series. Pretty much all of Jack's friends and loved ones have been killed. All hes got left is Chloe and his daughter....let them live please. I want this story to be about Jack's redemption and not just another dark chapter in his already pretty damn morose life.

Benjamin Bratt signs on

Bratt will play Harris, who commands the CIA operation in London that is pursuing Jack (Sutherland), now an exile and a fugitive from justice. Supporting Harris are CIA agent Kate Morgan (YvonneStrahovski, Dexter), who is both resourceful and driven; Jordan Reed (Giles Matthey, Jobs), a smart and sophisticated CIA computer tech; and Erik Ritter (Gbenga Akinnagbe, The Wire), a sharp, strong and arrogant field operative. 24: Live Another Day will film in London and pick up with Bauer several years after the events in the final season of 24.
