Horror 28 Years Later

Yep, I'm on the same time zone as the UK and the trailer came out at 10am.

------

So, about that trailer... What is this?

How come the trailer doesn't start with an echoing piano note?
Where's the slowed-down pop song? Where's the pause with a funny line?
What about the cinematography and ratio that make it feel like a motion picture?
Where are the CGI creatures?

:o

... Damn, count me in! That's one hell of a trailer!

I didn't know what to think of the return of this franchise, I've been burned by last decade's revivals pretty systematically.
But this one really does look as special as the first film did back in the day.

So is this supposed to be

Jim?

I am so pumped for this. I was already super excited, but that trailer made me 100x more excited. This looks proper scary. Just awesome

Looks like we've come full circle from TLOU taking inspiration from the first two movies to this taking inspiration from the first two games.

What inspiration(s) is this taking from TLoU exactly? Is it the "Lone Wolf and Cub" trope regarding ATJ's character and his companion?

There's environments, potential set pieces, and general aesthetic that look inspired by the series. It's pretty obvious, but I don't think it's a bad thing, just an observation.

I remember watching the two movies in the 2000s and owning a physical copy of them. I didn't realize it was something that was going to be resurrected many years later, in mid 2020s... But I love a good zombie film and the trailer is well made.

Synopsis: "It's been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well."
