So The Amazing Spiderman (2014) #1 was the best selling comic book of the year! Congrats to Slott and co. They're really doing a great job with the books currently.

So yeah, no wonder marvel studios wants spidey.

I just watched Whiplash...wow. Definitely one of the best of 2014.

Also interesting: as much hubbub as you hear about how huge the X-Men are in the comics, not one X-team title placed and the solo titles that did were The Death of Wolverine issues. Rocket Raccoon #1 beat any X-title, and the new Thor placed in the top ten as well. The comic fans seem pretty open to the new things Marvel is doing.

And killing off the X-Men. :o :o :o

[BLACKOUT]I love the X-Men. Wolvie and Beast are two of my favorite Marvel characters. Don't take the sarcasm too seriously.[/BLACKOUT] :cwink:

It's a lot better than what people perceive from the trailers.

Have you seen it yet? The movie gets you so pumped, especially when Miles Teller is playing the drums intensely.

And J.K. Simmons, mane, he deserves an Oscar.

I saw it around the time it came out, before I was on these boards. It is definitely an adrenaline rush - especially if you like the drums.

Jameson is quite the motivator indeed :wow:

I love Spider-Man
But his films are such a mess
Damn Avi Arad

Sadly I think marvel will be downsizing xmen more in the future. They won't kill 'em but I doubt they'll do much to expand their section of the 616.

I will say, marvel has had more hits than misses in their experiments as of late. Rocket Raccoon, Ant-Man and Squirrel Girl (yes, squirrel girl) are phenomenal reads. I loved death of wolverine for the most part. The new lady thor and falcon cap are also pretty good. Axis and original sin were let downs for me though.

And damn, spiderverse, one of the best marvel events in a long while, at least so far (the last issue was pretty uneventful however, but it ended with a very exciting twist)

Nice!Matt Leblanc was on Late night with Seth Meyers last night in character as Dr Drake Romoray.

It on netflix now too! :woot:

I'll have to check that out for sure.

I heard about that but I own all of the seasons on DVD :word:

I'll definitely check this out! I really dig the art!

I'm actually in the very early stages of my first serious comic book endeavor, it's been a dream of mine since I was a child actually, I've always been a cartoonist. It's all very exciting.

Neat, thanks! Yeah, I've found from drawing this book so far is that getting to share the kinds of things that make you happy and putting your personality into this stuff feels rewarding in itself. Definitely keep going with it!

I wanna see whiplash so bad!!! I'll probably have to wait until DVD release unless my theater has a screening.

I did recently see The Imitation Game, fantastic film! Incredible story.

I Just tried to look at a trailer but my stupid internet wont let me. It got a 95 on RT though so that is crazy.

The trailers don't do it justice.

Just watch the film and you'll agree with RT.

I've been wanting to see The Imitation Game for a long time. Might just do that here in a bit.

Just watched the trailer and it looks lame to me. Jk looks like he did a great job acting in it but other then that looks boring to me.

That's why I'm telling you to ignore the trailers.

Take mine and Maooz's word for it.

So, what's you guys' take on the Charlie Hebdo shooting? I saw some of their cartoons, and I can understand how they are offensive to most people, but shouldn't freedom of speech also extend to freedom of offensive speech as well?
